"Lovely hotel"
Located in Patong Beach in Phuket, this resort is located directly across the road from the beach. Great pool area, and with a nice outdoor restaurant, the premises was great. Everynight the place was packed with people for dinner and the live show (which was not too bad....a good laugh sometimes). We were there for 4 nights, and when we checked in, we got upgraded to the upper level bungalows, which was lovely. The rooms are clean, staff are ok....sometimes not that helpful though. Would probably stay there again.

"Excellent Value"
This was a most unexpected surprise. I was travelling with friends but was unable to book a room in the same hotel. I found Baan LaiMai via an internet link someone sent me. What I found was that not only was it close to everything I wanted to see and do, but the room was spectacular! I'm guessing there were some serious post-tsunami repairs as it seemed much of the interior was newly redone. The room was huge, clean and the side balcony gave me great views of both the well-kept pool area and the ocean. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the grounds were well kept and the breakfast buffet is both generous and tasty.
During my stay a friend stopped by who was staying at the much larger and more expensive Novotel was shocked at the size and quality of the room, service and proximity to the beach/attractions. He'll be staying at Baan LaiMai next time.
The only drawback to Baan LaiMai is that wireless internet is only available near the front desk. I was fortunate in that my balcony was right by the lobby. That said, I will be back (and hopefully soon!).

"Great Place to Stay!"
We were in phuket to spend New Year’s Eve and had a great time staying here. The hotel is facing the beach, and about 2 doors away from Holiday Inn, patong beach. Basically everthing is around u - from shopping, to dining to tuk tuks. The rooms were HUGE!!! The bathrooms were HUGE!! The breakfast was great. The hotel serves the best coffee. Nice live band. We took 2 rooms - 1 bungalow and 1 room in the building. Both were big and in the room, unless the sliding door is open, you can’t hear the band. Just make sure u ask for a room with a window. We didn’t and got a room without a window. They very nice enough to change our room to 1 with a window & a really HUGE balcony the next day. Would definitely stay here again. The staffs were REALLY REALLY friendly!
