Siutated in front of the Porta Pia, the last masterpiece of the magnificent Michelangleo, the Baltic Hotel is located inside a Liberty building from the 19th century. The hotel first opened its doors to the public in the 1960s but has seen recent renovations which have brought the hotel's facilities up to a modern standard.

The position of the hotel is minutes away from many of Rome's main monuments, a pleasureable walk for visitors to the city.

The staff of the Baltic Hotel will give the maximum attention to all guests and are happy to provide information about the city, book tours and reserve tickets or restaurants in the area. The Baltic Hotel is suitable both for business and leisure travellers.

LOCATION

The Baltic Hotel is to be found on the Via XX Settembre within walking distance of the central train station, Termini. For guests who prefer not to walk the bus 910 from in front of the station will bring guests close to the hotel entrance.

Other bus and metro connections in the surrounding area link the hotel with the principal attractions of the Eternal City including the Via Veneot, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Vatican.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant but this is not a problem as there are many restaurants offering different types of cuisine in the area. There are also a number of snack bars, shops and a small supermarket nearby .

Must say, this was a very clean hotel and with friendly and helpful staff. The lift was a bit unpredictable, but very funny! The hotel is not as close to the spanish steps as I thought but the walk was very pleasent. All in all, a hotel that I would book again!

Fancy a lift?
My wife and I stayed one night at the Baltic in mid-July 2008. Our first impressions were not too encouraging; the hotel is on the 2nd floor of an elderly office building and accessed via steep stairs or a small old-fashioned, temperamental lift! The hotel has a cramped reception area (where a perfectly good continental breakfast is served) and few facilities. Our small but adequate en-suite room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Perfectly OK for a night or two in a location with good transport links (several buses to Termini etc nearby) but maybe not ideal for a longer holiday. Several reasonable and cheap restaurants are nearby.

The hotel was nice, clean and quiet. The room was a bit on the small side but for the price it was great. The staff were brilliant and the whole place was clean. The bit that is the best is the location. 5 mins walk (or a short bus ride with stops less then 100 meters away from the hotel and a newsagent selling tickets {ps. service number 90 is the bus we used}) and your at Termini station which is the centre of Rome's fantastic public transport system. I would not hesitate in going back there.

"Comfortable convenience"
Hotel Baltic is located on XX Septembre which is ideal for walking into the city centre. It is also less than 5 mins from an underground station and less than 10 minutes from Termini (Main railway station). The Hotel is spread across different floors in adjacent buildings in the same block. the annexe, where we stayed is to an excellent standard, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is basic but adequate, buit don't bother with the pseudo orange juice! 24 hour reception and staff are very helpful. For the price it is good value - booked through GTA on the net.

"A small and very nice hotel"
A cosy, clean little hotel not too far from The Spanish steps and Fontana di Trevi. A friendly and helpful staff and the beds were exellent. Bring earplugs though. The traffic is rather heavy outside the windows. If we return, and we will, we want to stay in this place again. Kerstin Berggren, Sweden

Great location
The location of the hotel made our Roman holiday very walker friendly. The hotel is very clean, is pretty quiet, has working elevators, rooms with bathrooms, and easy access to the trains and buses of Rome. We walked most places, but took the bus a few times, and the metro. There is a bus stop less than two blocks from the hotel, ad the train station is about 6 blocks or so from the hotel. Be sure to get your Rome Pass from the tourist office at the train station. It is a great value.
