"Budget hotel near metro station"
The hotel is ok, rooms need a bit fixing but overall great bargain place. Breakfast was very simple. 100m to metro station which is a real convenience in this city; only 5 minutes to Silom road and there you can change to BTS SkyTrain if you need to. I recommend for budget travellers.

"A true home away from home"
The Bangkok Centre Hotel is really like a "hidden gem" and I have been staying there for many years during all of my trips to Bangkok. It's location is fantastic - in the center of the business district - right opposite Hua Lampong main trainstation - within walking distance from Chinatown and The Golden Buddha statue - and a 5 min taxiride to the night entertainment district (Patpong)and excellent shopping malls. Even with this central location, the hotel is a quiet spot in all the hustle and bustle - and really important in Thailand's heat, it has a beautiful swimming pool area with nice gardens.
The hotel has 11 floors with about 250 rooms. The lower floors have "standard rooms" and the upper floors have "deluxe rooms" with fantasic views of Bangkok. Considering an average room rate of about US $ 30 to $ 40 per night including a great breakfast buffet in their 24hr Coffee Shop, this hotel is a great value. The staff rarely changes and makes you feel very much at home. They are helpful and friendly and most speak good English. The fact that there is 24 hrs Roomservice available (which incidentally has never disappointed me!) and a 24hr coffee shop just adds to the value.
Also - the brand new Bangkok Metro station is located right in front of the hotel and can take you to many parts of Bangkok quickly and efficiently.
The rooms are simple but clean and all have a mini-bar fridge and satellite TV - and surprisingly, a pair of clean bathrobes and new slippers available in the closet. A nice touch!
Overall, I would rate this hotel as a 3-star but with 4 to 5 start service!
