"Fantastic!"
Returned from three nights at this hotel in late Septmeber. What a find! many thanks to all previous reviewers for your help in me picking this hotel. Room size was great (room 405) - much bigger I think than their average room size so request this if you can! Found it very hard to book as I could not find availability on any websites, but then stumbled across GTA.com (I think) and got the last room. So close to all the major attractions (accept the Vatican) - 5 mins walk to Trevi, 10 mins to Colisseum and in a very safe area. Would highly recommend a little bar round the corner called Alberts (I think!) - just walk down the hill, turn right and the opening to the bar is just there - we met loads of people from all over the world, just chatting over a sociable beer! Prices in Rome for drinks was very expensive but food was not too bad if you wandered around a bit. The cost of the hotel was expensive compared to other cities, but this seemed to be the case for all the hotels we considered and the Barberini was by no means the most expensive in Rome. We were delighted with this gem of a hotel - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

"We're coming back here!"
We arrived early in the morning and our room was not ready. The man at the desk said, our room was not ready, but it would be worth the wait because they were upgrading us to junor suite. As we were getting ready to leave the hotel, he told me that his manager said that there was too much work to do on it and we would not get the upgrade. I told him that we were going out for the day and that we would be glad to wait. He said no, our regular room was ready and that was what we would be assigned to. So, we were taken to a nice, somewhat small room with a very nice bathroom. Needless to say, I was disappointed. If he would just not have said anything, I would have been much happier. That was the only downside of this entire experience I certainly didn't let it spoil the overall impression of the hotel The location of the hotel is great. We walked to everything. However, sometimes we would be tired and take a cab. the cab drivers have a little difficulty finding the hotel because it is down a little side street.. Make sure that you know the landmarks to help them get you there or do as we did, get out at the major corner and walk the last block or so. Just down the street on Via Rusella is a restaurant recommended by Rick Steves. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It is called Hostel Romano. It is a half a block away. Another time we ate lunch at the nationale Cafeteria about two blocks away on Via Nationale. We were the only tourists in there. Very good, extremely reasonable and is also recommended by Rick Steves. The view at breakfast is fantastic! The waiters were friendly and always accomodating. Certainly enough selection for everyone to find things to eat for a filling breakfast. The lobby is welcoming when you enter. All the hotel staff were courteous and helpful. We are going back to Rome in April and will definitely be staying at the Barberini Hotel.

"Excellent Location"
My wife and I recently stayed in the Barberini Hotel for three nights, and I must admit after spending Hours on the internet looking through endless reviews we made the right choice by choosing this Hotel. First of all is the location, which is all important in Rome. It is literally 5min walk from the Trevi Fountain, 15min to the Coloseum and a short walk to the Spanish Steps. The Hotel itself is very nice and clean and very good quality, throughout, although our room was on the small side and our bathroom had a shower/ no bath, but that was not really a problem. The staff were excellent at all times and very friendly especially the breakfast staff in the Terrace which served us. The breakfast was very good although going up for a drink can be quite expensive. The views from the Terrace are beautiful, We quite recommend it. To summarize, We highly recommed this Hotel and cannot wait to go back !

"Great Hotel , Great Staff"
My wife and I had a very bad stay at Hotel H2000, so we start looking around for another hotel to move in. It just happened this hotel was one block away from the H2000. We walked into this hotel and were impressed by the kind and polite staff at the front desk. The person at the front desk even volunteer to show us one of the empty rooms. Needles to say we moved into this hotel right away, and we were able to enjoy the rest of the stay in Rome. Rooms are very spacious (for Rome), quiet, and very clean. There are also in-room safes. Just to tell you how caring this place is toward their guests, in our last day, we made arrangements with the front desk to have a mini-van take us to the airport at 4:00 AM in the morning. We got downstairs at 3:30 AM and took a seat in the lobby. The front desk person came to us and asked us if we need some coffee, which we did. He went upstairs to the bar (which was closed at that hour) and got us our coffees. The van was on time as promised as well! I would highly recommend this hotel to others. Bravo!
