"Excellent hotel in the middle of nowhere"
Opened in May 2005 this hotel is understandably suffering a few teething problems. The standard of accommodation is very high. The staff are working hard to make visitors feel comfortable.
When we visited the Spa/Golf course where not yet available. (due Oct 2005). A reasonable size swimming pool is already open.
The hotel is some miles outside of Aranjuez next to a large casino in the middle of an "urbanisation". (currently a building site).
Probably aimed at business travellers and corporate users the hotel would be too expensive for private travellers. (we got a reduced rate organised by a friendly Spanish travel agent).
Some of the staff had a very poor understanding of English - so we found it difficult to find the buffet restaurant (it wasn't yet open except for breakfast). The restaurant told us we could have tapas in the bar, the barman directed us to the restaurant if we wanted food.
Service in the small restaurant was excellent - the food was good although the menu was a little quirky. (defrosted summer fruits spoilt an excellent beef fillet).
