"Brilliant Hamilton"
The Hotel Hamilton was definatly above the rating of 3 Stars it is given. The staff are brilliant, all talk english and are always happy to help. The cleanliness of the hotel was brilliant, maids visited room everyday! The food was brilliant, there is plenty of choice and it is all of great standard. especially the chef that cooks food in front of you!

"Very enjoyable"
We have just returned from the Hotel Hamilton, having spent a week there, the hotel itself I felt was a little bit tired looking, especially in the bedrooms. The restaurant was always clean with a varied menu in the evenings, a good selection if you like fish, which unfortunately my Husband does'nt, so he had some difficulties with evening meal.The location was excellent, just sitting out on the balcony watching the liners and boats passing by was in itself a treat. Its a very short journey into Mahon, and this would be well worth your time, the bus stop is about a 10 minute walk, and the buses are every 30mins. There is limited shopping opportunities in Es Castell itself , so for a varied shopping experience you really need to make the journey into Mahon. We would definately consider returning to this hotel, Staff were all excellent and very friendly, rooms cleaned every day.

"Very enjoyable stay at the Hamilton"
Our second stay at this very comfortable, clean hotel. We booked through travelrepublic paying just under £300 for the two of us for one weeks half board which we thought was unbelievably good value. We do not normally stay half board but as we couldn't book just bed and breakfast we thought we just wouldn't bother with the evening meals. However on our second night we decided to give it a go and were very impressed by the variety of food on offer. Although we are vegetarians there was plenty for us to eat and we ate there every night after that. We arranged a harbour view directly with the hotel and it is worth it for the small supplement., the views are wonderful especially towards sunset. Although not large the rooms are of adequete size and the bathroom has a 3/4 size bath with a good shower over it. The towels were changed as required and bed linen every 3 days. The air conditioning was excellent and quieter than many places we have stayed. As mentioned in other reviews the aircon to the bedrooms is turned off during the middle of the day but this is only a problem if you spend the day in your room, if you return after a day out it only takes 10 mins for your room to cool. For us the hotel was in an ideal location as we had a hire car to travel around during the day and we enjoy spending time in the bars of Es Castell and Cales Fonts on an evening. The nearest sandy beach is at Sa Mesquida about 15mins drive and is absolutely gorgeous.

"Just fab"
Just back from Es Castel in Menorca, staying in the Barcelo Hamilton. Es Castel is very quiet, but peaceful. Hiring a car is easy and the best way to see the island. The Barcelo Hamilton, in my opinion was first class, nothing was too much bother to the staff and the food was excellent.

"I put on half a stone"
What was good. 1. The very friendly and helpful staff. 2. Very good food (a bit too good for my waistline). 3. The weekends when local people use the hotel facilities to celebrate wedding receptions, aniverseries etc., so that you dont have to go looking for local colour, it comes to you! 4. As you sit eating your food in the restaurant you may notice enourmous ships passing by, (its hard not to). 5. The island itself, take the trouble to go off and explore, its wonderful! Dont be put off by signs saying private or no entry in minorcan. You dont understand do you? So much lovely countryside and wildlife, ancient sites etc. if you are bold enough to explore. No-one is going to shoot you! 6. We went on a SAGA holiday to the hotel for a month and met the most wonderful fellow guests and made lots of friends. Now the down side. Not very much. 1. The sound proofing in the rooms was not great. 2. One member of the staff was a bit grumpy, (one out of about 60 I should think), I wont say who it was but you will know yourself after one day if you stay there, nothing serious though I expect it is just their way.
