"Bauer Il Palazzo the Best"
This was our 3rd visit to Venice having stayed at the Danieli twice before. We booked thru Luxury Link and were upgraded to a Palatial room with a view of the Grand Canal with a white marble bath with gold fixtures, walkin shower and jacuzzi tub - Magnificent ! The staff was completely on top of their game. They didn't miss a beat from check in to check out. I never have had such wonderful service from the chamber maids to Lucia and Roberta, who staffed the wonderful breakfast buffet every morning on the roof with the best view of the Grand Canal and the Santa Maria De La Salute Church. Cocktails and Hor D'Voures on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal and listening to the singing gondoliers will always be a romantic memory. It only cost a few bucks more to go first class and the Baurer Il Palazzo is worth every Euro. Can't wait to come back.

"Beautiful room"
Had a wonderful trip to Venice, hotel is beautiful and staff are very attentive. The hotel could do with somewhere to sit and enjoy the sun . Paolo recommended a couple of nice restaurants for our evening meals. Amazing city! Gondola ride, although pretty expensive at 100 euros, was the highlight. Took a train ride to Lake Garda on the sunday, very nice! (Take good walking shoes.)

"Romantic stay in Venice"
Last April we spent a couple of days with friends in Venice. The hotel arranged our welcome at the airport and the boat ride to the hotel was very nice. Bauer Il Palazzo is a classic hotel, we got very nice rooms, and staff was very helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient with the grande Canal in front of the hotel and the fancy shops (Prada, Chanel etc) just behind, and off course only a 100 meters of the San Marco Square. Best of our stay was the concierge who was very helpful in making our daily planning. Breakfast is at the rooftop, nice place, but selection could be little bigger. Lunch & Dinner at the terrace were very nice. The only thing we missed was a swimming pool, but after all it was a romantic city trip.

"Luxury on the Grand Canal"
I stayed at the Bauer Il Palazzo for 3 nights on May 17, 18 & 19, 2007. The hotel has a superb location on the Grand Canal, very close to St. Mark's, yet on a quiet side passage. I don't think there is a nicer place to stay in Venice if cost is not a concern. I had a palatial room with full canal view and a balcony. Very expensive, but worth it for a splurge. I spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the diverse activities on the Grand Canal. Traditional Venetian decor. Large marble bath with separate shower. The hotel is well maintained to a very high level. Outstanding concierge--not only knowledgeable, but regularly going above and beyond what is expected even of a hotel of this quality. And this is quality--a solid 5 stars. Only weakness was only one computer for guest use by both Il Palazzo and the adjoining Hotel Bauer, and the computer was inoperative for two days during my stay. Fortunately, I found an excellent internet spot on Campo Santo Stefano, an 8-minute walk, with a rate of 3 euros for each 20 minutes. The Il Palazzo is the higher end portion of the Bauer adjoining pair, with a site on the Grand Canal--the hotel is directly connected and also very nice, but has no Grand Canal frontage. Il Palazzo has an intimate atmosphere and, except for the internet shortcoming, was flawless. Breakfast is on the top (7th) floor and is a good buffet, but not outstanding. I did not eat dinner at the hotel, but had excellent dinners at Do Forni and at La Cusina in the nearby Hotel Europa & Regina. The latter restaurant has outside dining on the Grand Canal.

"Super elegant hotel in terrific location"
Our family just spent 3 nights at the Bauer Il Palazzo and found it to be an outstanding Venice hotel. The location is terrific - facing both the Grand Canal and a smaller canal that is a busy gondolier waiting location. It is quite near the piazza San Marco, and while this might sound like a drawback because of the large number of tourists there, in fact it's a plus - as this is also an area full of great shops and restaurants, and a busy vaporetto and water taxi stop. You wouldn't know about the crowds at all unless you walk that direction for 5 minutes. It's not cheap by any means and we stayed in a “palatial” room that had room for 3 people. Our room was high up (on the 6th floor) and looking over the Venetian rooftops and down on the canals was breathtaking. Breakfast is buffet style and excellent, and is served up on a balcony (and enclosed room) on the 7th floor overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff are friendly and animated (how can Italians have so much "joie de vivre"?).

"A romantic hotel"
We have just spent three wonderful nights at the Palazzo and would happly go again, it is just off the tourist track and is 3 min walk in to St Marks square. The staff fall over themselves to help with reservations and also mapping out the tourist trails for you. Its Grand canal rooms are great, but we will go for the same suite each time for the location and space involved.

"loved the palazzo"
august 2005,stayed at the il palazzo for a long weekend for our wedding anniversary, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we could not fault our treatment. We booked a king canal view room, which was very clean and had just been recarpeted, the room was lovely with great views of the grand canal., We cannot praise the hotel and the staff enough, we did not experience any rude staff in the hotel but plenty outside of it when we went out for a meal,if you really want to relax and spoil youselves this is the hotel ,breakfast served in your room is a luxury and experience not to be missed. All in all an unforgetable experience in an unforgetable place.

"Absolutely Fabulous!"
Just returned from a long weekend at Il Palazzo - which was absolutely fabulous. Our room was gorgeous, Roberto the concierge was very helpful without being overwelming. Breakfast on the roof was everything it should be for the the price to stay at Il P. and reserving the jacuzzi with a bottle of Pro Secco and a dish of strawberries was simply one of the most romantic experiences in the world. Its not cheap but its worth every euro!

"A wonderful stay in a magical city"
We spent a fantastic week-end in Venice, with cold but sunny weather. We had chosen the Bauer Il Palazzo afer reading some reviews here, but I lacked some pictures. I try to post a few ones to give you a better idea of this property. The week prior to our trip I requested the concierge to arrange transfer from Marco Polo airport to the hotel. At 210EUR it is expensive but worth it, especially when you arrive at night and when it's your first time there. We stayed in 'executive panoramic' suite 727 with a view over San Marco. The suite was perfectly clean, with a nice marble floor, we had a large walk-in closet, an even larger dressing room, a beautiful wood-paneled sitting area, one bedroom and one complete bathroom with bathtub & shower. The suite is not located in the historic palazzo but at the top of the hotel (same floor as Settimo Cielo where you can enjoy your breakfast and just under the gym).
