LOCATION
Bauza Hotel is located opposite Goya Metro station in Madrid’s upmarket Salamanca district, one kilometre from Retiro Park and the chic shops of Calle Serrano.

PROPERTY AMENITIES
* An assorted breakfast buffet is served in the restaurant from 7.30 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 7.30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on weekends.
* Bauzá Restaurant:
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the hotel restaurant has large picture windows overlooking Calle Goya. Decor is contemporary with linen tablecloths, designer dinnerware, fresh flowers, and candles. Menu is modern Mediterranean and changes regularly. Sample dishes include Seasonal Mushroom Risotto, Sea Bass with Haricot Bean Stew, and Iberian Game with Asparagus Noodles.
* Bauzá Lounge:
Open throughout the day, the lounge is adjacent to the restaurant and serves an all day bar menu of hot and cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, milkshakes, snacks, sandwiches, light meals and desserts.
* Guests can unwind or catch up on work in the peaceful confines of the hotel library, decorated in soothing tones with table lamps, thick rugs, plump cushions, deep sofas and armchairs and modern photographic prints. A selection of books in Spanish, French and English is available, and there are work desks and PCs with high-speed Internet access, free for guests’ use. The small gym has cardiovascular and resistance machines, weights and a TV, as well as changing rooms and a sauna.
* The six meeting rooms, one of which has a terrace for breakout sessions, have capacity for 10 to 350 people. Audio-visual and telecommunications equipment, videoconferencing, translation and secretarial services are available. |

"Hip hotel - great location"
Here's the deal. We were worried when we first walked into Hotel Bauza, and - if they don't update it soon - you will be too. Don't fret, though. Although the reception area is worked over, the rest of the hotel is alarmingly clean and pretty well done. We really grew to love this place for a lot of reasons - good design asthetic, great loaction in an upscale area just a bit of a walk (or a few Metro stops) away from the heart of it all, and spotless (worth mentioning again!).

"Great Location but noisy"
We booked Bauza on Lastminute.com and stayed 3 nights over the last weekend in April. The hotel is in a great location especially for those who love to shop. The rooms are v. small but very clean and the staff were pleasant and professional without being in your face.
One word of warning! Due to the wood floors the sound travels between rooms - particuarly the sound of the TV. Also I was kept awake all of Sunday night by the music from a club at the back of the hotel - it went on until 5am. However that is not the fault of the hotel but it would prevent me from going back.

"value for money"
Apart from the restaurant which was a great disappointment - the suite at the Bauza was excellent value for money. There was a large terrace with two loungers and table and chairs;the bathroom was extremely well equipped with a large walk in shower and double sinks.
However, we did ask to see the superior rooms and felt they were on the small side. For a little extra cost, the suite is much better value.
Judging by the prices of other similar hotels in the city, a suite at this one is definitely good value.
