"Would definately recommend"
We stayed at the Bel Aire for 2 nights at the end of our 2 week honeymoon in Koh Samui.
This is a fantastic hotel. They upgraded us to the 18th floor rooms which are the best in the hotel, and gave us a honeymoon cake and cards - even though we only stayed there 2 nights. The location is excellent 2 mins walk away from the Nana Station on the skytrain. The last stop on the skytrain leaves you right at the main dock for the riverboat cruises. The skytrain also brings you to the red light district which most tousits do want to see. A day pass for both the train and the boat costs 220 baht which is excellent. We didnt get a tuk tuk once while we were there.
I think considering what we paid for this hotel - its the best value I have ever gotten! Would definately stay here if we went back to Bangkok

"A Good hotel and location"
We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday and it is a good base for exploring Bangkok. The room was upgraded (without us asking). It was large, clean and modern. The staff were polite and helpful. It's easy to get to shopping attractions (Siam sq shopping centre, weekend market) on the Sky train and it is quite cheap to get a taxi to the golden palace and canals etc. If you want peace and quiet, Bangkok is obviously not the place to go. There are some sleazy bars in the area, but there also some v nice Thai, middle-eastern and asian restaurants. We didn't have food in the hotel, but Foodland, a supermarket opposte does a nice, cheap breakfast.

"great hotel"
after a 14 hour plane journey the Bel aire princess was exactly what my friend and I needed.
our back packs were taken from us as soon as we reached the hotel and sent to our rooms.
we were given free tea and buscuits in the lobby while the reception desk checked us in.
our room was lovely, what one might expect from a five star in Dublin.
great big beds, nice bathroom powerful hot shower. little extras like a dvd player, safe, bath robes and slippers really added something to our stay.
there were flowers and mints on our pillows when they made up the room .
there is a nice swimming pool and tennis court.
breakfast is good keeps you going all day!

"Great Location"
We booked our room at the Bel-Aire based on a personal recommendation. We wanted a location that offered us great bargain shopping within walking distance. In addition to a great night market available within one block of the front door, you can also walk to the Skytrain (BTS) which is inexpensive, easy to use and can take you to many tourist attractions and shops. The hotel itself is simple, but clean and well managed. The rooms are large by Asian standards. (We had room for a roll away in addition to our two other twin beds). Since there are ample and cheap eating facilities nearby we did not use the hotel restaurant except for breakfast - which was included in the room rate. We arranged for our own taxi from the airport as well as back to the airport which is much cheaper than having the hotel arrange it for you. For the price, this hotel offers a good value for the casual tourist.

"great fun"
I really liked the Bel-Aire Princess. It was in a good location, just walking discuss to the nana skytrain & all other facilities are right on the door step. The rooms were quite funky & very comfortable. The restaurant had a lovely buffet & the service from the hotel staff was commendable!

"Perfect location"
Stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. Didn't have any of the problems mentioned in previous reviews. Yes we did have to wait for our room at check in but that is not the fault of the hotel. You can checkout anytime until midday and we got there at 9 am so didn't expect a room to be available. We were still able to freshen up and got free tea or coffee while we waited. Due to it's location, we were able to walk to the main Sukhumvit road and look around to pass the time. Loads of restaurants near the hotel.
Restaurants we tried and enjoyed were Bukhara (Indian Restaurant) which is near Sukhumvit Soi 7 and Cabbages and Condoms (Thai restaurant). Cabbages has a very limited vegetarian choice.
Gullivers bar was buzzing anytime of the day and spent every night sitting outside having a few drinks and watching the world go by. Only went to the hotel to sleep and have breakfast!! Breakfast was good.
Would recommend a visit to the Bayouike tower wholesale market for good bargains on clothes.
