"Contemporary, Clean and Comfortable"
As the Bella Venezia only reopened after extensive renovations late last year, we did not find many reviews on Tripadvisor. We originally booked at Hotel A La Commedia, but discovered that their rooms did not overlook a canal. As I had this romantic notion of waking up to the sounds of the gondoliers singing, we did more research and found some reviews for the Bella Venezia on Venere.com.
The Bella Venezia has more of a bed-and-breakfast feel than a professional hotel, although the facilities were beautiful. The entrance is modern and appealing. We had a lovely room, with two windows overlooking a canal on a popular gondola route (just as I had imagined, although we discovered that the gondoliers do not sing, and few people hire the extra singers!) The room and bathroom were clean, contemporary, and had every amenity we could need including a very comfortable bath, marble counters, a hairdryer, a towel dryer (wonderful for hanging laundry!) and even a bidet!
The bed-and-breakfast feel came from the fact the hotel seemed to run on a fairly skeleton staff, and didn't have the feel of a big hotel. In a way, it was cozy. There was one person at the front desk in the day and one in the evening. They also helped make coffee (which we told was free when arrived, but when we settled our bill, we discovered that the night person charged us. However, as soon as we questioned the charge, the day person took if off the bill!). The two ladies that served breakfast also cleaned our rooms (we think).
The breakfasts were typical of Italy - a choice of meats, cheeses, salads, croissants, pastries, cereal, etc. They also offered champange and orange juice.
The location was perfect, about half way between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square (an easy walk through the narrow streets from the Rialto Vaparetto - which is the water taxi - stop).
We would stay at the Bella Venezia again, and we would recommend it to others looking for a convenient, clean and comfortable hotel in this price range.

"Lovely Hotel and helpful staff"
We've just returned from a weekend in Venice and stayed at the Hotel Bella Venezia. The Hotel was in a great location and our room was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean.
The breakfast was great and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the canal.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We would highly recommend this for a place to stay in Venice.

"Loved the ambience and the luxury"
I was thrilled when searching for a place to stay in Venice, to swing an excellent price for a room in this lovely renovated 17th century palace. Very gorgeous, luxurious and perfectly placed between the Rialto and the cathedral St Marco.
Lusciously decorated and overlooking a canal, it is elegantly furnished. The bathroom even sported matching elegant maroon toilet paper - a new experience for me, and somewhat disturbing truth be told.
This place was so fancy that the breakfast buffet included caviar! I had scrambled eggs and caviar for breakfast - a breakfast of kings indeed.
The staff were helpful but never obsequious, which is a true sign of an excellent hotel. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic getaway and would stay there again in a heartbeat... if I only had the money!
