This 3-star Bellavista Hotel is situated on the seafront about 6km outside the town of Alghero. Basic and no-frills, but clean and comfortable accommodation with helpful staff.

The hotel is located in the area of Fertilia, just outside Alghero's centre. The hotel, although located outside of Alghero, is located just in front of the marina and so can be ideal for tourists.

Although perhaps slightly short of the 3-star standard, this hotel is perfect for budget-travellers as well as families and rather for a short-break than long holidays due to lack of leisure facilities. The property is a 3-storey purpose-built block building with small balconies.

LOCATION

The Bellavista Hotel is located outside Alghero, it is only 10-min drive from the historical centre and Fertilia airport. The hotel is situated directly on the seafront by a marina and offers beautiful views of Alghero across the bay.

Alghero (L'Alguer in Catalan and S'Alighera in Sardinian), is a town of about 35,000 inhabitants (down from 54,300 inhabitants since early 20th century). It lies in the province of Sassari in north-western Sardinia, Italy.

The area of today's Alghero was settled since pre-historical times. The so-called Ozieri culture was present here in the 4th millennium BCE while the nuraghe civilization was present from around 1500 BCE for, and traces of Phoenician buildings have been found not far from the city.

The Cathedral of St. Mary. Begun in 1570, it was opened in 1593 but finished and consecrated only in 1730. The church original was is in Catalan-Gothic style, as it can be seen in the five chapels of the presbitery, which also include the base of the bell tower. The nave and the two aisles are instead in Late Renaissance style. In the 20th century a Neo-Classicist narthex was added to the fa�ade, changing abruptly its appearance.
The church of St. Francis (1360, rebuilt in the late 16th century). Original Catalan-Gothic parts can be seen over the high altar, the presbitery chapels and the SS. Sacramento Chapel. The bell tower is from the first half of the 16th century.

* The restaurant on the ground floor offers both regional and general Italian cuisine. Basic buffet breakfast is included.

ROOM AMENITIES

* The rooms are large in size and they are kept in good condition, however their standard varies. They are very simply equipped with modern and functional furniture. Rooms have small balconies offering beautiful views of the bay.
