"This is a very nice hotel"
This is a very nice hotel. The breakfast and service was excellent. The guy at the desk was very friendly and gave us some excellent sight-seeing advice. |

"Beakfast/restaurant was excellent"
Hotel staff were exceptional. Beakfast/restaurant was excellent. Would prefer a shower to a bathtub.

"Very nice cool atmosphere"
Very nice cool atmosphere, like in the other Guldsmeden hotels in CPH. Rooms have only a bath.

"Cosy, chic and an outstanding breakfast"
A terrific discovery! My wife and I had just one night to stay in Copenhagen and we were looking for something relaxing and little funky where we could enjoy a break from the kids! Bertrams definitely lived up to the website and TripAdvisor reviews - it's an excellent little hotel.
The area: Vesterbro is becoming gentrified but remains quite scruffy and Bertrams is right on Vesterbrogade - the main road running west out of the city centre from Central Station/Tivoli. Don't let it put you off - Bertrams has a quite courtyard garden and after London, Paris etc. even a busy street in CPH is not too noisy.
Our room 109 overlooked the courtyard. Lovely, very comfortable four-poster bed; good, powerful, hot shower although no bath (some rooms have baths) and posh shampoo, body wash, body lotions etc.
Another highlight was the superb breakfast - a really generous spread laid out on a lovely oak topped counter in the open plan dining room and kitchen. Bertrams is next door to an organic bakery called Emmerys (they have another branch nearer the station) and the bread was top notch - a really moist rye and a sourdough white, fresh and delicious croissants plus all the usual fruit salad, eggs, hams, salamis, cheeses, good coffee and orange juice you can squeeze yourself. Fill up on this and you won't need to eat lunch.
Staff were young and friendly and the place has a family run feel. Definitely not a naff, trying-too-hard 'boutique' hotel but it does have a special twist.

"wonderful stay for family of 4"
Three nights at this hotel, if only they could all be like this! We arrived very late on the friday night due to delays at heathrow, all the resturants were closed and we had two very tired and hungry children. Fortunatley we travel with some of our own supplies as our yonger daughter is a coeliac. The staff at the hotel where more than helpful letting us use their fantastic kitchen to cook a late dinner and as we needed. Our room was on the 3rd floor (plan well before leaving, reducing the trips up and down) very cosy with a partitioned wall betwen us and the girls double fold out bed. Room very clean and light, bed very comfy, which is a plus after walking all day, facing the garden being extra quiet. Loved the organic creams, bath soap and shampoos! Treat. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning, heaps for the girls, and organic! gotta love that in a hotel. The hotel was booked out when we stayed ( not sure where everyone was) breakfast came alive around 9, staff quick to refill when brought to their attention.
Location is along a main street away from the centre, nice to be away from the crowds (however small) Bus 6A stops right out the front taking you straight into Tivioli and town, other buses easy to work out and get around. We hired bikes from the Rent-A-Bike shop at the back of Central Station...be wary they only onpen till 1pm Sat and close Sundays. We hired on the monday, heaps of options for all kids ages, great way of getting around, across the city and sights (little mermaid), easy and quick, you can hire them for days at a time, no longer needing the bus, probably quicker too!
Neighbourhood behind the hotel has some great little cafes, Sticks and Sushi had great fun food, especially for kids..not cheap but nothing is here we found out. Some of the shops along Istedgade street were a little explecit, felt safe, just look the other way! Tivioli was a great way to spend a few hours in the morning then at night with the lights..our girls loved it, getting great value from the multiride pass as most of the younger rides require an adult to go on with them, which is understandable as they seem a little too fast at times. Great hotel, worth the stay.
