"Wonderful stay!" My mom and I went to Paris for the weekend and after researching hotel after hotel I decided on the Hotel Astra, which is affiliated with Best Western hotels. We took the Eurostar from London and the hotel was about a 15-minute walk from the Gare de Nord station. It is in a great location, in the Opera district next to all the big department stores. It's on a quiet street, and the room we were in was very quiet, could not hear any street noise at all. There are many small cafes and bars around the area, and it's within walking distance from all the main attractions, although it's a healthy walk! While the stay was great, there were two things that could have been better. We had a room near the elevator which you could hear in constant use throughout the night. If we go back, which I definitely would, I would ask for a different room. The other unfortunate thing is that breakfast is not included, and when we did have breakfast at the hotel one morning it cost us a whopping 38 euros!!! So all in all, I would fully recommend the Astra Opera, just be wary of the price of breakfast and the rooms by the elevators!!
