"Great for families !"
Simply furnished but clean spacious room. Very quiet - ideal for families. Handy for transport which was a main reason for choosing - we just hopped on the E95 from the airport and this terminates at Syntagma Square (no need to worry about your stop!) From the hotel it was only a short walk (through pedestrianised/low traffic areas) to the Acropolis and the Plaka area for restaurants etc. Breakfast was good. Only slight drawback was a lack of bar/restaurant but since it's not far from Plaka area etc. this was no problem (and probably helped to keep the hotel quiet!) Highly recommended !

"Nice and quiet - ideal location"
I have stayed at Achilleas Hotel for several years now, and find it very convenient. It is in a quiet street, and still only a few minutes walk away from Syntagma Sq., Ermou Str. and hence to many of the top attractions. The location also convenient for travelling to/from the airport on the metro, as well as for connecting to Pireus for ferries etc.
The rooms are spacy when you travel single, but I should think the same goes for a couple.
The management is serviceminded and helpful.

"Great Central Location!"
A friend and I shared a twin room here in October 2006. We thought the hotel was easy to find, it's located near to Syntagma Square where you can easily get buses, trams and trains. All the sights are within easy walking distance. We didn't find the location to be at all noisy as the hotel was located off a side street.
I'd say the hotel offers fairly basic but comfortable accommodation. The shower door was broken, but the shower itself was not so we managed ok! I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom - and I'm hard to please. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a disappointment as I don't like to face the public on a morning til I've had my cup of tea :-)
Breakfast was a self selection of DIY toast, jams, bread, scrambled eggs, hot dog type sausages, ham, cheese, fruit, cereal, fruit juices and tea/coffee. The lady in charge of breakfast was a bit ferocious if you made a bit of a mess - watch out for her!!
All in all, I'd recommend it, after all there are so many things to see in Athens, you'll spend hardly any time in your room anyway, so we found it value for money.
