"Pleasant hotel--Good value" The Eresin Taxim Hotel in Istanbul is clean, friendly and conveniently located to Taxim Square. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English. Wireless internet service cost 15 Euros per day and was only available in the lobby. International phone calls were more expensive than what I paid in other hotels in Istanbul and on the Mediterranean, but the cost was about what I would have expected to pay for an international call made in a hotel in the US. While adequate,the breakfast was a little boring--a small selection of cheese, fruit, bread, and cold cereal. Bar and tea service in the lobby was very good. I didn't find security to be an issue--Istanbul is safer than most cities I travel to, and certainly more safe than Chicago. The area around the hotel is very pedestrian friendly and the access of cars to the area is controlled. This area includes lots of hotels, shopping, restaurants, and small convenience stores where you can buy bottled water, snacks, tour books, and postcards. The hotel is within a few blocks of Taxim Square and Istiklal Street. The restaurants on Istiklal Street are much better and more fun than any hotel restaurant. The hotel room was clean and adequate. The window in my room opened, which I found refreshing in October. The property across the street was under construction (as of October 2005), but the noise was muffled by the closed window. Construction on the lobby of the hotel was finished by my visit, so there was no construction within the hotel. Overall, my stay was good and I was pleased with the service and the accommodations.

"modern hotel, great location" arrived late. friendly welcome. very modern room, plasma tv, cd player ( no discs) safe in room, brilliant bathroom including jacuzzi bath, unfortunately a/c stopped working after 2 nights, open wardrobe and lack of clothes space, breakfast more than adaquate if not inspired, bar defininitely not up to 'Irish' standards ie dead as dodo, new extension soon promising views of bosphorous, jazuzzi swimming pool fun and sauna and steam room were a bonus. hotel central to taxim square and walking distance to main shopping street/night life/restaurants. enjoyed stay and loved instanbul, such friendly people, (and so young)

Good hotel It's clean and nice. Though breakfast is not worth geting up that early.Location is goos and rooms are O.K as well.The most important it 's well maintained
