"good value if a bit unpredictable!" this hotel is certainly not luxurious but if you are on a budget it is a heck of a lot better than many many places. Rooms are spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, quite big, huge and comfy bed. Breakfast is perfectly adequate if a but unimaginative and repetitive. Certainly if yu get a good deal on price (mine was a double room 3 nights b& B £95!) you will have nothing to complain about. the only thing that bugged us was that the bar was shut all weekend! it ws not very busy and they had decided they did not want to pay the barman for the potentially limited trade! A big plus is that it is directly opposite the tramway station ' romarin' which goes straight into both Lille Europe and Lille Flandres station ie right into town, and interchange with the metro etc as well - and at 60 cents for a 'zap' ticket - valid for 3 stations - or 10 euros 20 for a carnet of tickets that you can use on all the transpole services the town is so easily accessible - pity we didn;t know that when we paid for a taxi the night we arrived.....we waited longer for the taxi than the tram would have taken! oh and the hotel does run a free shuttle into town as well at certain times. Rooms at front are a wee bit noisy with the trams if you are used to a very quiet sleeping environment but I have to say I didn't notice it after the first night.
