"Excellent Location"
We spent 3 great nights at the Astoria whilst the Cannes Film Festival was on. Got a great rate on Expedia, which surprised us as the festival was on we were half expecting something to be wrong with it but we were pleasantly surprised. I think it has just had a refurb as it all seemed quite new/modern although it was quite basic it was clean and in a very good location. The train station is at the top of the street. We took a train to Cannes one day (8 min journey) and we went to Monte Carlo the next (1hr journey), on the way back we hopped off the train in Nice for lunch and then back on again for no extra cost. Juan les Pins is really nice and this hotel although not on the beach front is just a short walk down the street. Lots of nice restaurants on the beach, reasonable prices although we were paying approx £9 for a cocktail at a place call Pam Pam's however the entertainment was fab and the cocktails were delicious complete with great accessories! No complaints about any part of the trip and was good to be close to Cannes but not actually in it with all the hustle and bustle of the festival. Will definitely be returning.

"Ideal location"
The Astoria is in a perfect location - a minute from the train station and 3 minutes from the sea. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and in good condition. Although our room did not, most have balconies. It is located on a quiet street lined with palm trees leading to the beach. Although this part of the beach is mainly private so you have to pay, there is a small section called 'Hollywood' which is public. If you turn right when you reach the beach coming from the hotel, there is a larger stretch of public beach about 5 minutes walk away. Most of the restaurants do good food - especially freshly made pizzas (about 12 Euros), but by far the best and probably most expensive was 'Les Paradis', part of the Meridian Hotel, but make sure you book!
