Best Western Hotel Bernerhof is a middle class hotel, excellently situated in the hearth of Interlaken, near the Interlaken West railway station and the boat landing stage. The hotel is ideal departure point for many excursions and hiking in the Bernese Oberland. The famous ski resorts of Jungfrau Region are reachable within short time by rail or car. "Good value"
The problem with this hotel on our visit was the lack of air conditioning. But I was told that NO hotel in Interlaken has air conditioning! We arrived just after a previous reviewer. It was hot and humid and the quilt was heavy, but we were provided with a fan. Otherwise we thought it good value for money, having booked early throught the Internet. The room was adequate and the bathroom was in pristine condition and looked new. The breakfast was as good as one could expect of a continental breakfast. The hotel is excellently situated for Interlaken West railway station, and the boats for Thunersee. The restaurant is apparently leased out, and seems popular with the young, and not to our taste. Perhaps we were favourably situated, but had no problem with noise.

Good location right near the train station (with easy transfer to the Oost Train Station), small but sufficient rooms. Staff was very helpful and accomodating making our short visit a very successful one.

With so much to do in Interlaken, it was nice to have a staff that was so helpful. They gave good directions and information about the best stuff to see. Facilities were nice and hotel breakfast was about even with the other hotels we stayed at in Switzerland.

"Wonderful hotel with a great location!"
We stayed at the Hotel Bernerhof for a week this past summer and were extremely pleased and glad we chose this hotel. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and well decorated, and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Our room had a great view of the mountains, a very nice balcony with a table & chairs and of course flowers on the railing. There are many interesting large sculptures throughout the hotel -- we made it a point to visit each floor to check them all out. The hotel is owned by Ms. Susanne Schmidt, who can often be seen at the front desk or on the front porch of the hotel having conversation and wine with her guests. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It's virtually just steps from the Interlaken West train station, right in the heart of the city. From the station we could easily catch a train, bus or boat to anywhere we wanted to go. Shops and restaurants are all just right out the front door of the hotel. And, there is an excellent restaurant attached to the hotel --we had several dinners and late night snacks there. We hope to go back to Switzerland and Interlaken some day, and we would definitely stay at the Hotel Bernerhof again.

"Favorite Swiss Hotel"
So glad to see that someone else has discovered our favorite hotel in Switzerland. We have stayed at this hotel 16 times and plan to return again the first week of Dec. Day trips by train to other locations in Switzerland are easy since the station is so convenient. Every room has a balcony. I can not say enough about the owner and her staff. They are so friendly and helpful in every way. They have become my Swiss family.
