"Would stay again"
We just returned from our 5 weeks holiday, which included 3 days in Madrid, and we stayed at Best Western Hotel Carlos V, - which I thought was perfectly located (although there are a lot a hotels which seem to be located within walking distance to a lot of the central part of Madrid. We had a triple room which was roomy enough, a good bathroom and the breakfast room was extremely lovely, and was also where the bar and lounge area was located. It was just steps away from a good shopping street, Puerto Sol and Plaza Mayor. I think we paid 130 euro (for the triple) which included breakfast. The street in which this hotel is situated is a pedestrian area, and just off another busier shopping pedestrian area, but noise is not a factor. I would stay there again. Walls maybe a little thin, but we fell into bed every night exhausted and slept soundly. If this is in your price bracket, I wouldn't hesitate to book it. Staff are helpful and friendly.

"comfortable small hotel in the heart of the centre"
I stayed here last January for 3 nights. Location of the hotel is great. In a small street next to a big shopping street and close to the subway. Room was quite small but very comfortable. Small but good
bathroom and with a french balcony. I only paid like €55 a night which I believe is very cheap for what you get. Breakfast is not included but it only costs you €9 per person. I had breakfast in the hotel once and it was pretty good. Had a pleasant stay here and would
certainly recommend it.
