  Hotel Information

Historical, charming building & luxury accommodations…

Best Western Hotel Meteor Plaza is a charming hotel located in the Old Town of Prague, within walking distance of all major historic sights around the city centre. The hotel building dates back to 1307 when it was called “The White Lion” and served the guests just near the Powder Gate which was one of the main city gates of Prague. In the 17th century Emperor Josef II spent a night here as well.

Today, Best Western Hotel Meteor Plaza consists of 83 rooms and 5 suites as well as wonderful dining and wellness facilities. The excellent location of the hotel gives you the opportunity to explore the beauties of Prague in an enjoyable way.
LOCATION

Best Western Hotel Meteor Plaza is situated on Hybernska street in the heart of the city, approximately 500 metres (0,3 mile) from the both Wenceslas and Old Town Squares. One of the most remarkable sights within close vicinity is the Palac u Hybernu (Hybernians’ Palace), one of the most modern theatres for musical performances in Prague. Just across the theatre stands the Municipal House, built between 1905 and 1912 in Art Nouveau style and contains a concert hall. On your way towards the Old Town Square, you may like to visit the House of the Black Madonna where you will find a museum of Cubism.

The Old Town Square where you can visit the St. Nicholas Church, the Church of Our Lady in front of Tyn, the Old Town Hall and Tower is five minutes’ walking distance. Here you will have the chance to see the Astronomical Clock which is mounted on the Old Town City Hall and dates back to the 15th century. The Maisel Synagogue, the Jewish Town Hall and the High Synagogue will be on your left as you walk towards the Charles Bridge.

The commercial centre of the New Town, Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske Namesti) features numerous shopping, dining and entertainment facilities as well as the National Museum and the Prague State Opera.

To the north of the hotel is Palladium, a brand new shopping centre with 200 shops and 30 dining facilities. You can reach Letna Park and National Technical Museum by crossing the Stefanikuv Bridge.

The closest public transportation link is Namesti Republiky tram and metro station. To reach the hotel from Prague Ruzyne Airport, you can get on the bus to Zlicin and then take the metro line B to Namesti Republiky.

"Loved the Omni"
Nice room, good location, excellent breakfast. Spent 5 nights here in my second trip to Prague. Close to Powder Tower and Municipal Hall, but street was not too noisy. Would stay there again.

"Fantastic"
The hotel was in a great location- I didn't use puiblic transit once as all sights are within easy walking distance. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast had lots of choice. The room was great- comfy bed, quite a few tv channels to choose from (although not too many in english) and a clean bathroom. I am a travel agent and will highly recommend this hotel to any of my clients going to Prague.

Good value for money
Excellent location, 500 metrres from Wenceslaus Square and about 15 minutes walk from the Old Town. Clean and very comfortable rooms, bathroom also very clean and fresh. Reception a bit traditional, breakfast acceptable but uninspiring. Very quiet overnight Recommended for a long weekend with good access to all the main tourist sites on foot

"Highly recommended - Had a fantastic stay"
I stayed at this hotel from 16th - 19th November 2006 with my Mum, Brother and Fiance for his 30th birthday celebrations. We arrived late at night to the hotel but this was no problem. The front desk staff were very pleasant and polite and showed us maps of the city and tours available; they even advised us where we could get something to eat and drink at 11pm at night. Our 2 rooms were on the second floor next to each other and were lovely. Large modern recently renovated bathrooms with huge shower. Towels changed daily as long as you leave them on the floor. More than adequate room with TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and mini-bar with reasonable prices. The bed was so comfy! All very clean and lovely furniture. Breakfast was the usual continental offerings but nevertheless adequate to set you up for the day. Hotel was in a really good location, lovely area, near the Powder Tower and about 5 mins walk from the Old Town Square which is much nicer day and night than Wenceslas Square. We didnt need to use the public transport as all major sites are within walking distance. You may want to catch a tram to the castle but we walked it, our legs ached but we did it, and climbed the 287 steps of the castle tower! After a days sightseeing we had a lovely drink in the hotel bar where the staff were great and remembered each persons choices. Overall I couldnt recommend this hotel highly enough and only wish I could have stayed longer. On return to Prague, and we will, we would not choose to stay anywhere else.

"Would Reccommend To Anyone"
Thought I'd write my review of my girlfriend & I first trip to Prague. Got picked up at the Airport by holidaytaxis.com - would recommend this service to anyone - nice big mercedes to pick us up, the guy was very friendly and showed us the sights on the way telling us the easiest way to get to places etc. Got us feeling very welcome before we'd even seen our hotel. The hotel is in an amazing location, you literally come out of the hotel and to your left is the famous gate of prague (not sure of the proper name) which leads you on to either Old Town Square or Wenceslas Square - both 5 mins walk away. The room was quite small, but who spends time in the hotel room other than to sleep? The bed was big and comfy, shower was great, and rooms were very very clean. Location is more important to me when you go to a city! Breakfast was fine, good selection and just what you'd expect - hot food, cereal, juices, coffee, tea, bread, spreads etc - plenty of selection. The bar was quite expensive even for a beer - more expensive that I was expecting for Prague - as I had heard it was very cheap! We didn't use the restaurant as the prices seemed very steep! Staff were all fine - very polite and tried to have conversations with us, veen though their english wasn't their forte! As for Prague, I loved the place - we never used the trams or taxis - everywhere is very walkable - a great city to walk and get lost. Never worry about getting lost - you'll always see a building that you find familiar and work your way back toa main path. We will be coming back to prague, and we will be using the same hotel again!

Great hotel, Great location
Visited BW Meteor Plaza for New Year 2005. 3 night stay with my other half and some friends. Hotel & rooms very clean, great shower! Room overlooking the garden & Xmas tree covered in snow - very picturesque! Breakfast plentiful and enjoyable. Staff friendly and knowledgeable of the area, hotel really central for most of the sites and no need for a cab home. Handy local sports bar over the road for a cheap beer before venturing out into the centre.

Absolutely Brilliant
Obviously I was excited about going someone new but also anxious as to what I would find. Well I have to say the hotel is just fab. It is a 4 star hotel with all the facilities for a city break. Rooms were clean, sheets and towels clean and crisp. All in all the room was great. Hotel staff pleasant, polite and helpful. We did not try the restaurant or the Spa but the breakfast was fine. The best thing above all else is it's location. It is so central it is unbelievable and yet it is in a quiet street. You couldn't ask for more. My sister is disabled and everything is so close she managed the walks all round Prague. Prague itself is a lovely place. The people are so nice, they were helpful and friendly and I did not experience anybody who wasn't. It is steeped in history and has everything you could want from a city break. I have to say I felt totally safe. Especially after living in London for 30 years. I would recommend going before the Euro comes into effect in 2009.I would recommend going to Prague and staying at the Best Western Meteor Plaza and I will guarantee you will thoroughly enjoy yourself..
