"Loved the view of Lykavittos Hill and noisy traffic"
We got special price EUR47 a night and for that rate im satisfied 100%. The location is fine - we never took buses or subway, we walked to all the sites (of course my 55y old mother got very tired by night, but still happy as it was our first time in Athens)- 50m to Omonia square and then towards Syntagma or Monastiraki for about 20-30min.
The hotel was clean and the receptionists very helpful and friendly- gave us maps at check in without asking, offered tours etc. I liked the balcony with the view of Lykavittos hill. Nice compliment was to have free orange juice in the lobby there.
One thing that could be better - the breakfast buffet might have had more choise though, but im not very fussy to start complaining about that. Also in internet a welcome drink was promised, but we never got one (but does not matter to me). Another annoying thing was that tourist groups arriving at night were noisy, but that's not the hotel's fault.
Funny thing for us as Nordic people was that we arrived on Sunday and right under our balcony there was a very noisy fair going on.
I would definitely stay in Pythagorion again.

"Good clean Hotel in a very good location"
Very clean hotel within walking distance of many attractions. I was very happy with my stay. The sheets and pillows smelled clean and fresh and the bathroom was extremely clean. The building is older and does not offer anything fancy, but you get a good clean room, with a sufficiant breakfast in a good location. I have stayed at Hyatts and Hiltons less clean than this hotel. Plus it offered a nice balcony. We were able to walk to all the different sites and even the shopping district. We would definetely stay here again if visiting Athens. While not a grand hotel, a very nice hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff.

"Good value hotel."
I have stayed at the Pythagorion on a couple of visits to Athens and found the rooms to be above average and reasonably priced for Ahtens, which is becoming more and more expensive. The hotel is about half way between Omonia and Karaiskaki Square, each of which have a metro station. The location is not the best, but the trade-off is decent accommodation at a good price.
