The Best Western Hotel Hordaheimen is located in the heart of Bergen. This hotel has a long history, and it offers modern comforts with the best Norwegian traditions. One of the oldest and most venerable in Bergen, the hotel dates back to 1918, when Bondeungdomslaget (the Society of Farm Youth) and private shareholders decided to create a place to stay for people from the outlying districts.

Today the hotel features the latest in comfort. The hotel is constantly making itself over. The most recent remodelling job was a renovation of the lobby, reception and cafe in spring 2003. In many ways, one of Bergen's oldest hotels is also one of its newest. With Bergen at your feet, stay at one of the most venerable hotels right in the central part of the city. A hotel of fine vintage: elegant and always full of surprises! A comfortable hotel immediately adjacent to the pedestrian shopping street, Torgallmenningen and the famous Bergen Fish Market.

The guestrooms and the common areas have all been renovated, and equipped with comfortable furnishings, and appointed with bright colors. The lobby area has a unique collection of fine, old furniture that is worth the visit in itself. Naturally, the hotel serves the Bergen specialty prinsefisk, potato dumplings with all the trimmings and Mum's best meatballs. Many visit the hotel just because of the excellent kitchen. Cheery yet tasteful colours distinguish the entire hotel. The reception area features a combination of old and new.

The Best Western Hotel Hordaheimen is within walking distance of the Aquarium, the Main Square, the fish market and the funincular railway. Stay on your toes.
A really nice hotel although go for the new rooms. They cost more but are a lot better. the hotel is old and the usual rooms offered are small and old.

"a great two days!"
Best Western Hotell Hordaheimen has a great location one block from the harbor. Walking to the FIsh Market and other sites in Old Bergen takes only 5 minutes. The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is generous, and the rooms are clean and neat. Overall, a great two days!

Great customer service!
We stayed at this Best Western for two nights following our 7-day cruise on the Hurtigruten (fabulous!) and a 6-day stay in Balestrand (double fab!). Before checking in we had just been bumped from another hotel(across the street) and we were relocated here. The four of us were obviously upset about the inconvenience and abrupt nature of how this was done. However, this hotel went out of their way to make us happy. They upgraded our rooms without us saying anything. Accommodations were simple even in their deluxe rooms but we were comfortable and the breakfasts were more than satisfying. We left feeling very satisfied.

Perfectly located
In the heart of Bergen, this hotel is great for its price/class. 2 minutes walk to the guest harbour, the fish and souvenirs market, the shopping streets and famous Bryggen. (10 minutes walk to "The Garage" bar/concert venue, which was important to us). Furthermore, the staff was very friendly and helpful. And, as usual in Norway, the breakfast is a full buffet. Calm side-street. We were very pleased with that hotel’s cleanliness and comfort. Smoking/non-smoking rooms. Free wireless internet access.
