"Best Western was a good value"
We chose the Best Western, Pentagon hotel because we needed two rooms, but we were traveling on a budget. We stayed three nights during the Cherry Blossom festival and thoroughly enjoyed the city and this hotel. The hotel is right by the interstate, in an urban neighborhood so we were a little worried that we'd made a poor choice when we first arrived. However, the staff were the most friendly people in DC and the hotel room was one of the cleanest I've stayed in. THis hotel provides free shuttle service to the Pentagon City metro line and that proved to be a life-saver. We didn't have to drive at all--just caught the shuttle and jumped on the Metro to see everything. The hotel seems to cater to business men and women, especially those with business at the Pentagon and to tourists.

"Great for the price"
I went to other hotel sites and found fair reviews--I came here and almost made other reservations. I decided to give them a chance--and I was pleasantly surprised!! We stayed from 8/13/06 until 8/19/06. The hotel has just been renovated, and we had a great time. The front desk ppl were more than helpful with directions, the shuttle while crowded at times, was always on time, the rooms were spotless, and also had a micro/fridge that was unadvertised. Housekeeping was fantastic. The only complaints I had were low water pressure, sometimes noisy water pipes when someone above takes a shower, and the "restaurant". Don't even bother with checking it out--It's a continental breakfast w/ a hotplate. The staff are extremely helpful w/ directions to food. I highly recommmend the Shirlington area (abt 10 min. away) and old town Alexandria (abt 15-20 min. away). Be forwarned--parking is always a challenge anywhere in the area, and when you do find a spot, it is really small. the pool is open from 12am-9pm, and the shuttle runs from 6am-10pm, and if you miss the last one or need an earlier one, it costs abt $7 for the cab. All in all, I will return because the price was great and everything except for the restaurant was more than I expected.
