"Lovec is a better option than many of the better known hotels" We really enjoyed the Lovec (despite some indifferent weather) and, having visited the other hotels (including the Vila Bled) would certainly stay hear again. Only the Toplice would possibly top it. Good points about the Lovec: 1) it looks down the lake to the island - most of the other hotels look across the lake. Go for the jacuzzi in the room and you can enjoy the view even better 2) It's recently refurbished, whilst some of the others look tired 3 despite the unatmospheric dining room, the food was superb. 4) the bar is a real pub (the original building) whilst some of the others have the bar stuck in the corner of a huge reception hall 5) It's a short walk up the sloping main road from the lake. Some of the others have quite intimidating steps - or a long trip round.

"Great hotel" Hotel Lovec has been recently renovated and it looks great. The location is excellent, rooms are spacios and clean, with lovely balconies overlooking the lake. Breakfast is typical, although I think there should be more variety of food in a four star hotel. Hotel also offers spa program which is worth trying. Overall, this is a great hotel.
