"Great Choice!"
What a great Hotel! As other reviewers have said its very mod and comtempory and while it was full during our stay it never felt like it was and we never heard other guests, altho we did hear a dog barking!!
The breakfast buffet, free internet were particularly good. As to location, once you find your bearings in relation to the transport its very convenient for walking or tram and metro. The huge CityCentre shopping centre also just a 5-10 minute walk away! We had a Thai massage at the Siam centre which was a real treat too as close to the hotel!

"Fantastic hotel"
We stayed in this hotel just after it opened in early 2006 so we managed to get a great deal for a 4 night stay including breakfast, booking direct with the hotel. The hotel was in a handy location although you can't really see the river, about a 5 or 10 min walk to bars and restaurants. The room was very modern and comfortable, great bathroom. There is a very nice sauna and jacuzzi area in the basement which you just have to make time for. Free internet in the lobby and very helpful staff on reception. We will just have to go back one day!

"Small hotel, great design"
Just round the corner from the Parlament. Capable reception staff, good English. It's a 4 star Best Western, though it's not obvious from the website. Quite small- has no restaurant and one shared internet terminal. Has a lounge bar serving cocktails - until 5pm you can have free coffee and croissants there too. Breakfast is served in a bright open dining area under a curved glass roof- lovely. The buffet breakfast is serve yourself but very thorough- everything from cereal to croissants and pastries, cold cuts to bacon and eggs... and the ever present coffee machine. The only place you can't find one is in your room!
Rooms are gorgeously designed and air conditioned, flat TV, phone, programmable safe, nice shower. Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

"Don't have a bad word for the Hotel Parlament"
I have just returned from a conference in Budapest, and had the pleasure of three nights in this hotel.
Basically, I can't fault it in any way. The front-desk staff were friendly & helpful. The room was extremely stylish and comfortable, and better than I expected for the (very reasonable) cost.
I especially liked the free, unlimited wireless access in the room. Furthermore, if you're not carrying a laptop, there's free net access in the lobby!
Breakfast was also good, and covered all the usual things you'd expect.
Location's ok too. A few blocks from the parliament building, as you would expect from the name! About ten minutes walk from the chain bridge (if that). There are also several good bars & restaurants within walking distance ... and the streets felt safer than most cities.
I would definitely use this hotel again. I stayed at Le Meridien on my last visit, and the difference in cost certainly doesn't reflect the difference in standards.

"Hotel is the cat's meow!"
My friend and I loved this hotel! We stayed one night in July, 2006. Absolutely no complaints. No noise. Staff were very helpful. The best breakfast buffet I have had in Europe. When they called a taxi for us the cab was there in one to five minutes. The beds had wonderful down comforter/sheets that were separate for each person. The hotel is new and seems underpriced. I think it should be close to #1 in your list of hotels in Budapest. Small hotel. Good location. The computers for the internet worked perfectly and were usually available. Free coffee, tea, and mineral water in the bar before 5 every day. The design of the decor is so clever. I took photos of the lighting, the closet, and the bathroom. This was the highlight of our 36 hours in Budapest. When we left, I wrote a review in their book that included "The cat's pajamma's" and "the bee's knees", as well as some parphrases of Cole Porter's "You're the top."

"Modern hotel - the nicest staff"
I stayed in the Hotel Parliament for 3 nights in July. The rooms were very clean and towels were changed everyday. First hotel ive ever been to that had a proper hairdryer!! The staff were the best. They couldnt have been more helpful or friendly. The bar is a bit small but the cocktails are yummy!! It is in a nice safe area with a few bars & restaurants nearby. There is a metro stop 2 mins away and a tram stop straight across the road and it is very easy to get around the city.
I would definitely go back to this hotel and i would highly recommend it. |
