"Excellent hotel"
What an excellent hotel! After reading one or two bad comments on this hotel I was not expecting much. But what a surprise. The room was more than your average size for Europe, and lovely decor. The location was excellent location, a 20 minute walk to the colleseum and a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro. A quiet neighbourhood but not far from all the action by tram or metro.

"Comfortable and Charming"
Hotel Bled was very comfortable and clean. It is a bit off the beaten path, though not too far from several historical sites including the Coloseum, if you take a cab or don't mind the walk.

"Loved Rome!"
I left for Rome on a Monday, arrived in Rome on Tuesday morning, had a transfer in Paris. Security was not the hassle people and other sources made it to be. The hotel was fine. It was only me, so I had a single with a private bathroom. The only complaint would be that the hotel was terrible in relaying messages to me. I used Rick Steves guidebook on Rome and it was fine. The issues he raised about pickpockets, ect.. did not occcur to me, but I was aware of the criminal element, Being from Boston originally no doubt helped knowing about the street. I saw as many sites as possible and the best bet is to get a week pass for the Metro and a combo pass at the Coliseum. The combo pass aloows you to enter 7 different sites and museums. Get a phone card, they are the best to use. I enjoyed Rome fully, I went off the beaten path and found other sites not mentioned in tourbook. See all the sites in Rome and also get down to Ostia Antica, this was a Roman working-class port town and gives you a taste of everyday life during that time frame. The food wasd great as was fresah friut and meats. I did a lot of snacking while I walked and really only ate 3 formal meals. I went to Rome in Febuary and the weather was about 45-50 degrees F. Other than to say I'll be going back within the year, the trip was great as were the people and the hotel was fine.enjoy.Mark T.
