LOCATION

The Blu Hotel is in a convenient position for guests arriving by car as it it close to the exit of the motorway and the Via Tiburtina, an important road leading into Rome.

The Tiburtina bus and train station, one of the main transport hubs in the city, is within walking distance. From there it is possible to take the underground metro line or one of the main buses which go to all parts of Rome. Bus 492 will take guests to the Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, Via del Corso and Vatican City. The Metro Line B will bring guests to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and St. Paul's Basilica. Tiburtina Station is also one of the stops for the metro line from Fiumicino Airport.
Walking up the Via Tiburtina, guests will find various shops, restaurants and bars offering good prices.

"Great Value - especially with a car."
Stayed in June 2005. This Hotel is an excellent value. Very clean, air-conditioned, decent breakfast, nice staff. However, it is not as easy to find or get to as descried in the other reviews. For most people, the walk to the hotel would be considered long. A good half mile or about 1 KM. There are two buses from the north train station to the hotel. You get tickets at the bus station in the back of the train station. Coming from the hotel to the train station, you have to buy them in the bar across the street located Kati-Korner from the hotel. Crossing to the hotel can be difficult from the bar depending on the hour due to traffic. Area appeared safe and I walked it with my daughter inthe day and later at night. But it is kind of quiet late so i would recommend a cab after 11 PM unless you are a group. There is a Pizza palce down the street from the hotel on the way to the station that is quite popular. The Bar also serves food across the street from the hotel and is also popular. Rome subway/u-bahn stops running real early like 9PM There is a bus to the train station until almost midnight from downtown and then you take another bus to the hotel. Train ride is 20 minutes. Bus ride a half hour from downtown. Call hotel for bus numbers. Finding hotel from station. There are no signs or info in station. Go out the side where the buses are and walk up the hill on the left past some industrial buildings. Make a left on the overpass. Walk to light and make a right crossing the street to the newspaper stand. There is a sign for the hotel on the corner if you look for it. You walk straight down an industrial street and hotel is a ways down on the right. You pass the bus repair depot and a gas station. Very modern hotel. Everything is new. They have secure parking as well. If you are driving, this is the place. Easy access from highway and I think parking is free,. I paid about 103 euros a night and it was well worth it and cheaper than any other hotel I found. Every bit as nice as a Radisson and a better value. Windows open and it is quiet. Place is spotless. Hotel is non-smoking everywhere. Security excellent.

"Clean, comfortable, and far from station"
I stayed at Blu Hotel Roma for three nights at the end of May, 2005. It was very clean and comfortable, and we booked it through our travel agent, so we saved a lot of money and got a good deal. I staye dthere with my father and brother. The staff was very friendly and attempted to help us find our destinations on our maps.

"Wonderful Desk Help"
I stayed at the Hotel Blu Roma in March 2006. The hotel is located in an acceptable part of town about 1/2 mile from a major subway terminal. You can also ride a number of buses from the terminal to the hotel. The front of the building is nothing special but the lobby is attractive. Our room was quite large and the bathroom was gigantic compared to the other hotels I've stayed at in Europe. Everything was clean and well maintained. The best part of the hotel was the hotel desk staff. In particular on of the gentlemen went out of his way to help me find some of the local attractions. His english was excellent and his attitude was wonderful. I wish some of the hotel staffs in the US would take note! My only issue with the hotel was noise. Our room was on the first floor near the elevator. With lovely tile floors throughout, we were awakened numerous times by other hotel guests coming back after "painting the town". But other than the noise, we were satisfied with hotel. We also found the best waiter and food a few blocks away at "La Boheme", but that's for another review.
