The two-star Boncompagni Suite in Rome is a tasteful B&B in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the city. The location is on the Via Boncompagni which is a side-street of the famous Via Veneto, the home of the "dolce vita romana". This central location is very convenient for guests who wish to explore Rome on foot as many of the main attractions of the city are within easy walking distance.

One of the recommended walks from the B&B is down the Via Boncompagni, passing over the Via Veneto and the Via Sistina directly to the top of the Spanish Steps where there is one of the most romantic views of the city.

LOCATION

The Boncompagni Suite is in a secure area of the city close to the Via Veneto and the American Embassy building. The area is a commercial and residential area so at night-time there is very little noise.

Within easy walking distance, guests can arrive at the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.

Piazza Barberini is about 10-15 minutes walk from the Boncompagni Suite and from there it is possible to find different bus routes and a metro station which links with the Vatican City, Termini train station (for airport connections) and other important tourist sites in the city.

Guests will not have to go far to find quality restaurants and bars as the area around the Via Veneto is full of dining establishments.

Shoppers can arrive in about 20 minutes at the exclusive shopping area of the Spanish Steps, Via del Corso and Via Condotti.

"Good choice"
We have stayed at the Suite Boncompagni for four nights in July 2006. The room was a small double, but it was modern, it was kept clean, and had a nice bathroom. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were OK too. The hotel is located in a quiet office area, some 30-40 minutes walk to the main Rome attractions (e.g., Pantheon). The closest metro station (Barberini) is 10-15 min walk. There are plenty of buses connecting the area with the centre, if you mind walking.

"Our Place In Rome"
The comfortable rooms of Boncompagni Suites were just what we needed to end our trip on a positive note. The location-as mentioned in previous reviews- is not very close to most of the main tourist attractions though it is in a nice neighborhood. It is next to the Hotel Oxford which would probably be nearly twice the price. While it is true their is not much going on at night it is only a few blocks from Villa Borghese. The rooms and bedding is what sets Boncompagni apart. The rooms, while not large, are above average in size and sparkling clean. The bed was of Tempurpedic quality and the sheets were of a very high thread count. The neighborhood was quiet at night and the other guests were very quiet for our stay, which was a good thing since the walls were thin. The locations is the second floor of an apartment building and there is a small elevator more appropriate for luggage than people. A continental breakfast in included and brought directly to the room since their is no common room other than a small lobby. Service was excellent and housekeeping did a great job straightening out our incredibly messy room. It is 45 euro to the airport by cab and about 15 Euro to the train station. Ten Euros and you will be at most attractions so it is not really that far from the action. Our rooms were booked through Italialoding and we were pleased with them as well.

"Perfect location at a great price"
Didn't look much from the outside when we first arrived as it doesn’t look like there is a hotel there. Its basically a door with bell leading to apartments & the hotel which is on the first floor. Don't be put off by this, once in its very clean, modern & well presented. For the price I would say it’s difficult to beat, we paid 80 euro’s for double room per night B&B. If you like all the usual hotel features such as lounge bar, large TV, sofa, kettle & iron in rooms then this isn’t for you. But if your purpose is for seeing Rome then great. Breakfast is brought to your room on a tray at your selected time. This was perfect, with a table in your room to sit & relax. No need to get out of bed! Breakfast is just simple so if you’re a big eater then you can easily pick up extra’s from a Spar shop just a street away on Via Tuscona. Rooms are very nicely decorated, simple & stylish with a mini bar with fair priced drinks, good sized bathroom, & TV. The two guys running the hotel were very friendly & gave a great service, nothing was too much hassle. Location is ideal, not right in town centre but just off Via Veneto which has all the fancy hotels & Hardrock Café. Only 10 mins walk to Spanish Steps & about 25 mins to Pantheon. Taxi drivers just want to rip you off, they tried to charge 65 euros from Ciampino airport which should only be 40 euro’s max. Agree price first. The hotel also have a driver & charge 50 euro. For the extra 10 euro’s it is guaranteed hassle free. Arrange with hotel directly upon booking. Our only minor issue was an office underneath was under going a refurbishment so drilling & hammering started at 9am. This was out of the owners control & I would imagine the work will be completed within a week or two. This just helped us get up & out to sight see quicker! Would definitely stay here again.
