"loved it!!" we stayed three nights in summer of 2004. at first we were a little put off because they said we would be in the annex!! what a great surprise--the rooms were newly rennovated and had lots of room, marble baths and a great view or two canals. it was the best place we stayed in two weeks in Italy. can't wait to go back.

"Wonderfully situated hotel" We got upgraded to the Bonvecchiati for a two night Globus stay. The location is just behind St. Marks Square--literally a minute away! The rooms were good sized for a European hotel with a large bath with tub and double sinks! Sort of antique furniture. Very clean. Staff was efficient, but not friendly. The first breakfast was a disaster with a Japanese tour group trying to get in and out before our group. Not enough seats or food. But overall it was a treat to be here!

"Hotel Bonvecchiati - Excellent" Have just enjoyed a wonderful break in Venice and stayed at the Hotel Bonvecchiati. The hotel is in a superb location near to both St Mark's and Rialto Bridge. Excellent room with marble bathroom and good breakfast in large dining room. Breakfast could be crowded even early in the morning. I would be more than happy to return to this hotel.

"bonvecchiati-fantastic" we recently stayed for 3 nights. our rooms were spotless and modern although i did see some which were smaller. the service was excellent and i found all of the staff to be extremely friendly. there were no complaints about breakfast, our deal told us there would be a cold buffet breakfast so i wasnt expecting too much but there were scrambled eggs and bacon as well as cereals, cheese, meats and pasta which is excellent by italian hotel standards. the location was amazing and my only complaint is not about the hotel its about the cost of everything else!

"Bon for Bonvecchiati" The Bonvecchiati Hotel was an excellent choice for our New Year stay in venice. Lovely receptionist who booked Concerts for us and greeted us daily. Rooms a bit small but lovey atmosphere . Shame no tea/coffee making facilities! Excellent breakfast and staff happy to make your coffee for you so you did not have to have instant from the machine. The location was excellent only 3 minutes walk from St Marks square and 5 mins from the Rialto Bridge surrounded by lots of good shops. venice is not the place to expect good food but lots of Coffee shops and bars all serving snacks. Definately recommend and stay again. The Bonvecchiati Palace is just round the corner and a very modern contemporary design in contrast to the venitian style worth a visit.

"Venice fantastica" March 2007 Byfleet, Surrey. We two old wrinklies stayed 5 nights at this super modern hotel very close to San Marco Square. The Hotel cannot be faulted, everything works. Immaculately clean, the Staff helpful and friendly. It doesn’t have a restaurant as such but wonderful scrambled eggs in the Breakfast Room, fried bacon, fruit, juices,cold meats, various cheeses, etc etc with baskets of bread butter and various rolls for breakfast all laid out buffet style from 7 thru 10.30am is quite brilliant and will carry you through until you find lunch or dinner at any one of endless eateries. Even if you love pasta (there’s plenty of fish) choose carefully – preferably on recommendation from another guest and not from someone whose cousin just happens to own the Restaurant. They’re not all as good as they should be and some, how can I put this politely, are costly ‘cons’! Be prepared to walk….and walk and walk – the place is amazing, beautiful and the buildings, architecture are altogether something you just have to see to believe. If I had a single Euro for every photograph I took plus all those behind me that I should have taken I could have bought the place. Shops everywhere you look, and if you like masques and ArtigianCarta book-binding paper shops you are in for a treat. Yes, the superfast water taxis are expensive anything from 80 to 110 Euros one way but when you see how beautiful are the Riva type boats you will understand the upkeep costs – lie back think of England and enjoy the ride from Marco Polo Airport to and through the alleyways of this totally pedestrianized and quite extraordinarily fabulous place.

"Terrific Hotel in Venice" We selected this hotel based on reviews at this site and we thought the hotel exceeded expectations. The room and bath were very large (for Europe) and quite luxurious; for example, walk-in closet. The location was ideal - close to Rialto Bridge and close to Saint Mark's Square. The service and breakfast were above average and we enjoyed the "private" sauna and jacuzzi (you book it for when you want it - free). We saved over $125 a night off the rack rate by booking on Expedia. Years ago we spent nearly $250 on a dreadful room in Venice that was far less convenient so finding a lovely and very comfortable hotel for about $325 a night (more on weekends) seemed like a rare find.

"Hip, Wonderful Venice Hotel" My family, including our two teenage girls, spent four nights at the Palace Bonvecchiati after Christmas. Our adjoining rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms were lovely. The location is great - midway between St. Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge. We arrived via private water taxi from the airport, directly to the hotel's water door. We found the staff to be very helpful, the breakfast excellent - especially the coffee! Plenty of great little restaurants in the neighborhood, and walking distance to lots of shopping. I would recommend getting a Venice Card which covers some museums and all public water taxis. Easy walk to Rialto to catch water taxi to the train station. Wonderful hotel stay!

"Gorgeous...Stylish AND friendly!" My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend break in Venice having stayed in the lovely Palace Bonvecchiati. We had booked it having read some of the reviews on this site, and were definitely not disappointed! The decor is very stylish and trendy and it has a water door for ease of arrival from the airport. (E90 for the water taxi trip). The staff were some of the friendliest, helpful and warmest I have ever met outside of the Far East. Our bedroom was a superior double and it was immaculately presented, with flat screen tv, mini bar, robes and slippers, padded hangers and a very stylish padded leather headboard. Everything was gleamingly clean, and the selection of vanity kit items was excellent. The only small drawback was the lack of room service (apart from breakfast which you could have delivered at a supplement) as I like the reassurance of being able to order a sandwich in the middle of the night if the munchies strike! However, it would never prevent me from staying here again. Location is amazingly convenient...just minutes from Rialto and St. Marks Square, amidst lots of wonderful shops and myriad winding streets. This hotel is an absolute gem!

"Fabulous" This hotel was fantastic. Very modern, only 5 minutes walk from the water bus stop & easy to find. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. You couldn't hear any other guests talking in their rooms. Portering service, key card entry to the door, digital safe in the room, bath, shower and heated towel rail. Good quality reception for the tv and beds turned down every night and very comfortable (even for a 6 foot person). The full breakfast had everything from pancetta, scrambled eggs, fresh coffee and tea, juices, pastries, breads, yoghurt and tinned and fresh fruit and polite waiters. Reception staff were friendly enough and spoke good English. You could catch a gondola from the side door of the hotel (80 euros) and less than 3 minutes walk to St Marc's Square. Close to all shopping and great restaurants and deli's and pubs/bars. I would definitely stay here again next time. Great price for great hotel.
