For nearly 600 years Borthwick Castle Hotel has overlooked the gently rolling hills near Edinburgh. This impressive medieval castle built in 1430 retains much of its original architecture, stepped in history. In 1567 Mary, Queen of Scots stayed here as did the Earl of Bothwell, both prominent figures in Scots history.
