Pleasant Surprise
The Boulevard hotel was a pleasant surprise. While the cost is low the rooms are clean, sufficient & modern. Abstract expressionist canvas paintings adorn the walls and the contemporary tones used in the room allow you to hold onto your breakfast while not looking at all staid. The lobby is grand and staff are extreamely friendly. The hotel has an entry directly into the Mid-Valley mega mall which is a bonus but there are better malls in KL. The Mid-Valley Kommuter is a stones throw and one stop from KL Sentral. The hotel appeals more to families with a large pool area and restaurant/bar. Don't come here if your looking for trendy hotel bars but for the price the hotel fights above it's weight. Don't use the internet though, the price is exhorbitant. |

"An excellent new hotel in a convenient location"
The Boulevard Hotel is part of the Cititel group which owns the MidValley complex. Before the KTM Komuter station was added at MidValley, this area wasn't really a good one to stay in, as commuting into central KL just took too long. However, the new train station is just 2 minutes walk from the Boulevard and so I thought I'd give this hotel a try. I was very pleased overall - getting into KL takes just a few minutes, and the trains come every 15 minutes or so. Also, the MidValley shopping centre is accessible directly from the hotel by a connecting door - therefore a wide range of shops and restaurants are on your doorstep.
The hotel itself has a very modern design, and the rooms are very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only disappointment is that the superior rooms have only a shower cubicle and not a bathtub. If you're after a bathtub, go for a deluxe room. We hadn't realised this was the case, and it took quite a while to get the manager at the hotel to help. Eventually, my friend was upgraded to a suite (as no deluxe rooms were available), but it took quite a lot of persuasion and patience on our part.
The buffet breakfast is absolutely outstanding - one of the best I've come across. The variety is immense and everything is very well presented. The pool and other facilities look very impressive too, though I didn't get a chance to try them out.
Overall I was extremely impressed with the Boulevard Hotel - I felt that it represents excellent value for money. Very highly recommended...

"great find"
This hotel is classified as excellent in my well travelled book, cannot fault it at all, attention to details are a norm here, little things like having the toilet papers folded each cleaning sessions, constant reassurance from attentive and friendly staffs made my 6 days stay so relaxing and enjoyable. This hotel was recently refurbished to a modern theme and is class as 4 star, but I personally would class it as an aspiring 5 star hotel with a 3 star cost. The hotel is located on the north precinct of a huge shopping mall call Midvalley mall, so if shopping is the agenda, it is heaven. Midway between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya and many others entertainment, eateries and more shopping area. I would stay there again in my next visit to Malaysia.

"Staff go beyond the call of duty"
Good value for money, especially considering breakfast was included.
The staff were initially cold, but warmed up and then completely exceeded expectations and impressed: my wife had a leg injury that inflamed during our stay - the staff there provided a wheelchair for mobility, a foot stool to ensure her comfort and were anticipatory. Pleasant, friendly housekeepers (Hisham Tahir and Ramil especially).
The concierge and bell did need a bit of prompting to offer a hand (chatting whilst guests struggle with bags) and other guests complain about a lack of the car space (valet anyone??).
Excellent all-round attention to detail. Impeccable English-speaking staff. Clean rooms, we stayed in a Supreme and found it comfortable and spacious. |
