"Friendly Staff, Great Food"
I stayed at the Bunratty Shannon Shamrock for the June Bank Holiday Weekend. The staff were so friendly, the food was fantastic, (we ate there every night!) and the atmosphere was cosy and inviting. It's a great place to stay, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Keep up the good work. I'll definatly be coming back!!!

My wife and I stayed here in a 2 nite, 1 dinner package on 9-11/11/06. We also booked our entrance tickets for the nearby Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet nite as part of the same package, which saved a bit off the normal price. On first seeing this hotel, the facade could be a bit off-putting- bit like an American motel, I suppose. But when you enter you will find all the facilities one would expect from a 3* hotel. The reception staff were extremely helpful and we got to our room with no hassle. The room was decorated in a fairly modern manner and had all the usual - good clean bed, nice en-suite, t.v., and ample room. We did a quick recon and found a swimming pool/fitness suite, a nice bar area, a large modern dinning room and a nice sitting area with views to the front of the hotel. We had our included meal on our first nite, served in the bar area as opposed to the restaurant, as there were not many guests staying on that particular nite. The meal was excellent - the choice of anything of the a la carte menu and it finished off with one of the nicest cafe lattes I had ever tasted! I had read some of the previous reviews written about this hotel and I really don't see how the complaints could be justified. Of course there are people who will complain for the sake of it. For a 3* hotel in provincial Ireland, I thought it was very good indeed. The staff were more than helpful and courteous at all times. I would have no problem staying at this hotel again. The village of Bunratty itself is a small collection of pubs, tourist oriented shops, hotels, a Mead winery and the Castle- the main reason most tourists would want to stay in the area. The Medieval Banquet is world famous and, although a bit touristy, it is still worth a visit as a different nite out.

Stayed here for three nights with my girlfriend (katie) as it was our one year anniversary. We had planned just to stay for two nights but in the end we stayed for three nights because it was really good we thought and it was really cheap. From reading the reveiws on this site i was a little bit putt off staying here because of all the bad reports,but i dont know what they are on about. The bar was really nice and cosy. The staff were lovely, the pool and gym were really good and quite. Went for dinner here and it was nice and the breacfast was super i thought. You could have as much as you wanted and there was a wide selection. It was all for a really reasonable price too. All in all i had a great stay here and would have no hesitation in coming back here especially with the girl of my dreams
