I had always wanted to visit Iceland and when I managed that I chose to stay in Cabin Hotel considering that its price was lower than most of the Icelandic hotels. Service was more than average. The room was of average size, the breakfast was good and filling, the neighborhood was very quiet. It was just a minutes walk to the waterfront and a very pleasant walk into the centre of town. Overall I liked the hotel and would stay there again if I visit Reyjkavik.

Don't look for another one
Noone has to look for another hotel in Reykjavik, Cabin Hotel is pretty satisfying for all kind of travellers. Good price, good service, clean rooms! I've been in this hotel twice and I found the same qualified service and facilities in my both visits. The rooms are not so big, but you don't need more spacious one if you are not planning to give a cocktail party. I can recommend this hotel without any doubt.

This hotel was very clean and close to the main shopping areas, the food is excellent as it is serve yourself basis with hot and cold food and is quite cheaper than the town restaurants. The only problem we had with this hotel was the first day when we arrived and that is they dont do double beds, so if you think your booking a double room your actually only get a twin room, but this place has some wonderful views of the mountains. And for the price of the rooms its a nice hotel.

"As good as it gets"
As my first stay, in 2005, really was a succes I stayed for the second time at hotel Cabin In December 2006 . The rooms are very cosy and quiet, the staff is excellent and the food has a perfect quality-price combination. I had lots off other experiences in Reykjavik and around the island but Hotel Cabin was really the best for the budget-traveller I am. After booking for the second time I contacted the hotel in order to stay at the same room as the year before and they forfilled my wishes: 5-th floor at the frontside with a nice view on the sea and mount Esja. I barely can wait to book my third relaxing stay.

"Value for money"
I stayed for a week in Hotel Cabin in Reykjavik. The staff was polite and helpful, the room had a great view of the bay, the breakfast buffet was ok and it had also a great offer for lunch buffet with 950kr. (i.e. 11euros) But the room was as tiny as described by others, although its main problem was that in the "closet" it was space for only 4 shirts and 2 sweaters! So the clothes had to be remained in the luggage, under the beds which had to be opened one at a time because there was not enough space for both of them! It was funny, I had already read others' reviews and I knew it, what you get is what you pay anyway... The hotel is located about 20min. walking from the centre of Reykjavik, so if it's cold it's difficult to walk the distance more than once a day. There is a bus stop outside but the ticket is too expensive. If it is to use the bus, it's better to book a hotel downtown. I'll probably do it next time, except if the price difference is big enough.

"Very Nice"
We stayed there for three nights last week, and it was very nice and the food (breakfast buffet) was the cheapest thing to eat which was good as Iceland is very expensive ( and it was included in the B and B price too ). The rooms were tiny, and as I am very tall, it did feel small but we were hardly in it except to sleep and the hotel, even though the rooms were on top of people, were surprisely quiet. all in all, was good value. Thank you to my friend for finding it!

"Clean and Friendly place to stay"
We stayed at the hotel cabin in January 2007 and had a great time. There was building work going on at the time as they are having renovations however this did not affect our stay at all. We were put in a very modern and comfortable room with a plasma screen TV and Power shower, I think we had been put in one of the newly refurbed rooms. The room was extremely clean and the beds were exceptionally comfy. We woke up to a stunning view of the bay. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and arranged all our day trips for us. They even arranged for our hire car to be picked up from the hotel when the weather conditions were too bad for us to drive back to the airport and they also payed for us to go on the Flybus back to the airport! I missed breakfast one morning and was even taken into the kitchen and made cereal and toast which i felt was above and beyond what they had to do. We will most definitley be back and I think once the new refub has finished it will be an excellent hotel. Do not judge it by the online pics the new rooms are much much nicer!

"Cheap, clean and cheerful"
The room was small but adequate - we didn't spend much time in there anyway - we were too busy exploring. We had a room with a window but could see that there were rooms with windows facing the corridor! Wouldn't have fancied that. It met our needs completely - cheap, walking distance to the centre (got taxis back in the evenings) and clean.

"Nice room for a sleep, great view"
We've been to Reykjavik in February 2006 in this hotel. The room was small, very small but very clean. Because we rented a car to discover Iceland we didn't spend much time in the hotel, why would you anyway!! Iceland is a beautifull country, just stay at your hotelroom to get a shower and some sleep. There was no closet in the room, so we had to put our suitcases under the bed. I loved the hotel, the view was spectacular and the beds were good enough to get some rest after a nice day of driving around. I recommend this hotel if driving around and enjoying Iceland is your idea of vacation.

Reykjavik-the cabin
We stayed at the Hotel Cabin. It was small and clean with knowledgable and kind staff. Just so you know, there are many, many hotels and guest houses-research to find what fits your own needs. Hotel Cabin was far enough out of the mix of the city but close enough that it allowed for a lovely stroll along the waterfront into the city center. Reykjavik is gorgeous. Icelanders are beautiful and helpful. Beer is expensive, but tasty as well. There are a multitude of adventure companies and tours that can be arranged prior to arrival, or, if you prefer-while you are there. Whale watching, horse riding (the Icelandic ponies are exceptional creatures), the Blue Lagoon. We visited two national parks, a breathtaking waterfall, geysers and an indoor greenhouse.

great
You have a great view of the sea if you get a room a little further up the floors. It's quite cheap for being Iceland, which is VERY expensive compared to the rest of Europe, and the breakfast is great. You get your typical Scandinavian breakfast and it will keep you going for a few hours. The hotel also has great parking facilites (no secure though) and it's very easy to get to the city centre and/or the shopping area Kringlan. Most people staying there (when we were there) were from Scandinavia, UK and America. All ages represented. The staff was out of this world when it came to service and helpfulness. This is absolutely well above average when the price is taken into consideration.
