"Very Nice Place To Stay"
I once booked a terrible room for our vacation at Walt Disney World in Orlando FL, and never lived it down. I tried to be very careful this time and was glad to see I was successful. The hotel was great, the room was great, the staff was great, the location was great, and the price was fair. I transferred to this hotel from a 5 star hotel in London. Sure there were differences, but found NOTHING to dislike about this property.

"Great Hotel!"
I was very worried about booking this hotel based on the reviews, but went ahead based on a recommendation by an acquaintance. We loved it! The staff was very friendly and they all spoke English. The rooms were small, but that is what we expected when you stay right in the heart of the city. The location was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

"Fantastic Hotel"
We stayed for 3 terrific nights. Great location. We had a prestige room which was quite large and had a huge bathroom. Everything was very clean. Staff just couldn't do enough for us and always had a smile. Just 2 blocks from Champs Elysess. Terrific pastry shop next to the hotel-we ate there every morning-about 8 euro each. We will never stay anywhere else while in Paris.

comme ci comme ça
I stayed with my girlfriend for 4 nights, beginning of May. The day we arrived we were given a very bad room: very small, the bed could hardly be called "double" and the bathroom was small and had only a shower. I complained to the reception that this room hardly came close to what the hotel calls an ambassador room and the guy there said they were full up and he would try to do something about it the next day. True to their word, next day they moved us to a better room. It had a proper bathroom, the bed was queen size and it was overall more comfortable.
On the positive side, the location (just off Champs Elysees) is really unbeatable. Pubs, restaurants and shops at a distance of a couple of minutes walking. Also, the hotel really has WiFi free of charge which can be accessed from the rooms (although it is rather slow). Finally, the staff is helpful and polite.
The breakfast was "ok". Good enough but not that rich in variety (and some of the offered items were often not available some days).
The problem we had with the room the first day has cast a doubt as to what kind of room I would get if I ever went back to that hotel again. The price was not cheap (ok, you pay for the location) and the walls were apparently from paper or whatever (we could hear the occupants of the adjucent rooms).
Overall, we had a good time but I wouldn't go back to it with closed eyes and without trying to find some better deal with some other hotel. As a conclusion, this hotel's "value for money" concept has sufficient room for improvement. |

"***** Excellent Hotel *****"
Excellent stay with very attentive staff. Close to everything on the Champs-Elysées and great restaraunts in walking distance. Everything was top-notch from the moment we stepped into the hotel. Breakfast was o.k. with a wide selection. The shopping that is close is eye-poppingly expensive, but I have heard of better, less expensive parts of town to shop, so we didn't do any on Champs-Elysées. There is a men's shop that just opened a few doors from the hotel and the prices there were the most reasonable and they were very nice, so I picked up a few items. The suite was marvelous and big, they also have duplex suites that were more expensive, but the same size as a regular suite. The difference is the duplex is on 2 floors, but the suite we booked had a large balcony with a table and chairs. If you can afford the suite, it is a better value than the regular rooms which are just as nice, but small.

"Hotel California was simply wonderful!"
We recently came back from Paris, France. We had stayed in the Hotel California for six days. It was simply a beautiful hotel with excellent services provided by extremely polite, cordial and helpful staff who were always ready to help you out. The location was simply great and quite close to most of all the great places of interest.

"Cute and Cheery!"
We just spent two nights at the Hotel California in Paris, and were very happy with this hotel. The rooms were bright, cheery, very clean, bedding was clean, and the hotel had obviously been recently remodeled. We booked a quad room, which was two rooms adjoining with one bathroom, and this was ideal for our family of four. This isn't a "luxury" hotel (enough room but not huge, but nothing overseas is, one chair to sit on, but we spent little time in the hotel anyway) but was a good place to stay. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke English. The location was wonderful; it was close to a metro station, there were many French cafes and places to buy sandwiches and wonderful French bakery nearby and on Saturday there was an outdoor market which was a great experience.

"Excellent breakfast"
I stayed in this hotel in dec 1999.
The room was very good and had a view to an inner garden.
The breakfast was excellent. Many cheeses from all over France.
Good choice.

"Great Hotel in Paris"
I was in Paris Sept 20-25, 2005 and stayed at the Hotel California. It was about a block and a half off the Champs Elysees' near George V metro stop and about 3 or 4 blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. It was a great location. The rooms were large (king size bed) and nicely appointed. The included breakfast buffet was excellent - included hot as well as cold foods. I would highly recommend this hotel. You also get frequent flyer miles with this hotel.
