"A happy little hotel!"
This hotel is mainly good, is very small but comfortable. The breakfast and the service are excellent. The only odd thing is that the hotel front street is too narrow for the buses to get there, maybe you have to walk up street. The other predicament is the location of the hotel, too far from the center.

"Very nice hotel"
Have only just found this site so thought id share my views!
Only stayed here for 2 nights with my boyfriend as a birthday present and thought it was a nice hotel. We were b and b so cant comment on the dinner but breakfast was fine-the norm fry-up,cereals,toast etc.. never had to queue for table or food. Pool area lovely-plenty of sunbeds, a guy walks round and finds you one then gives you cushions-we didnt get up until around 11am and always found plenty spare.
The hotel is just a short walk to the marina with lots of restaurants and bars although the better restaurants are hidden in the backstreets so look around!
All in all had a lovely time at the hotel and would return.

"Fantastic value out of season"
Two of us visited the Dom Pedro in December 2006 for a golf break - very out of season and therefore both the hotel and the town were very quiet. However this meant we enjoyed fantastic value for money - a twin room with breakfast for 7 nights, for 2 adults, for a total of less than £200 (ie £100 each)!
Breakfast itself was very good and despite being very quiet, the hotel didnt scrimp on variety or quality. Each morning there was a selection of breads and pastries (including some portuguese items), hams and local cheeses, hot breakfast buffet, cereals and fruits (albeit some were canned - however at this price our expectations had already been exceeded!).
The hotel itself was nice - our room though reasonably basic was clean and comfortable. I would add however that the hotel offers no iron or ironing board so iron before you go - the staff did however offer to put me in touch with housekeeping who could do my ironing with their industrial presses instead though I assume there would have been a charge for this.
The pool and garden looked nice - although this time of year it was 'just' warm enough to sit out in, but the pool was so cold it gave you cramp just dipping your toe in! For the time of year though, the weather was lovely and absolutely perfect - during the day the temparatures got up to I would guess 23-ish, and the sun was shining. Gets much cooler by late afternoon though so beware.
Tennis courts were of a good quality, though there was a charge. Again, given the hotel was so cheap and empty, you wouldnt begrudge them making a token charge for the courts! Including rackets it was 18 euro and for that they let us play for as long as we wanted to.
The location of the hotel couldnt be better - next to the casino, a 5 minute walk into the lovely marina. It's also just a couple of minutes to a nice looking beach though of course at this time of year we didnt pay it a visit. The town and marina was very quiet (though busier at the weekend with locals) and lots of the restaurants on the marina were closed - however there was still a very good selection, many specialising in fish and local dishes. Step off the marina to the streets running parallel to this, and you find many more 'local' restaurants and bars - we found the local people to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. These places off the marina were also busier (in a good way!) and cheaper, and these places and the people in them, along with the fantastic golf, really made the holiday for us.
Would absolutely recommend at this price, and will be going back next year!
