"Perfect location" Fantastic location...right near the night markets. We were on our anniversary and the hotel (we stayed at 3 on our trip) was the only one to do a free upgrade and rose petals on the bed and fruit platter with lots of roses in the room. The room was a large, corner room on the 18 floor with excellent panoramic views. The room was clean but the carpet looked a little old and a bit dirty in places (i was glad of the complimentary slippers). Bathroom was huge with a seperate bath and shower. It appeared that the room was actually a smoking room, however, because the room was so large we didnt notice too much of a smell which would usually bother me and given the free upgrade we were happy. The minibar etc was cheap as was the room service. The Chinese restaurant on the top floor has fab views and exquisite food (we had frogs legs, jelly fish and pigeon) sounds odd but was delicious. We were the only people in the restaurant but felt a little rushed. The restaurant was also excellent value. The room service was cheap but the order was muddled and it took about 4 calls to sort out as the staffs english wasn't very good. The breakfast buffet was very good. The lifts were very slow and cramped but this was a good excuse the climb the stairs and work off the buffet food! The lobby lounge does lovely cocktails and cakes and the concierge are very good. The airport plaza shopping centre operates a free shuttle from this hotel which is def worthwhile - it is an excellent shopping centre. The gym was good but the air con was quite poor. Lovely large pool. Chiang Mai is gorgeous!!

"Worth the money" I was very worried about the hotel condition after reading the bad reviews here. To my suprise, the room is big and clean. The toilet is big too. The breakfast is very good till I can't stop eating. Eventough the lift is slow but is not a big deal at off peak hour. The only thing is the wall of room is very thin. Be prepare to be get frighten by the water flowing noise from next door. It sound just like in your room I will definately stay in this hotel again if i going back to chiang mai next time.
