while the lobby is attractive, the rooms and hallways are dowdy and need upgrading. the rooms are dirty, bathrooms lack electrical plugins and lights over mirror. the rooms have a bad odor probably from lack of cleaning. we would not stay there again. |

"very nice"
Central Park Hotel was very clean, and not ridiculously small, just typically european sized. The staff was very nice, and the concierge frequently gave us walking directions, called taxis.
We found it to be a very nice, reasonably priced hotel in a fantastic location- about half a block from beautiful Kensington Gardens, a short walk to Portobello Road and Knightsbridge. |

"Central Park Hotel is an excellent hotel "
Central Park Hotel is an excellent hotel in London. The best we've stayed at so far. The only thing that wasn't so good was the breakfast, this can become much better. |

"Great. clean hotel"
Booked this hotel through expedia for $95 CND/nite. Not a bad hotel as it's a good location and priced well for London. Close to subway station and Hyde park (beautiful and a must see). Lots of eateries nearby down the street as well (chinese food, pasta etc). Would definitely stay here again.
Service was mediocre, but didn't mind as we were there just to sleep. Complimentary breakfast (cereal, bread, juice), which helps in such an expensive city to dine in.
Only problems: almost got mugged returning one night from some drunken revelers (seems to be a few on a friday nite) when returning from dinner, and I swear I had a (friendly, but mischievous) encounter with the supernatural one night. Something, or someone, decided to have a pillow fight with me one night and I was fully awake (by the noisy people outside easily heard through the thin windows) and my friend was sound asleep. Creepy? Not really. Makes for a good story, though =)

"A very good budget hotel"
Stayed in Central Park Hotel for 5 days and we were very satisfied with this hotel. I've been to a lot of London's budget hotels and this one has a lot of advantages:
The check-in and check-out were fast and friendly as we had pre-paid vouchers and the cloak-room was available and guarded. The new lifts were working nicely and the corridors of this hotel are broad. The rooms were large enough and recently renovated. The fridge and the safety-box in our room were a definate plus and the location of this hotel is excellent: So close to Bayswater Road and Queensway.
Some minor minus points from a very little bathroom (it worked very well, though) and not enough room for our clothes.
The continental breakfast was poor, but we bought the English breakfast (4£) on most mornings and it got us through half of the day. We had some small problems with our rooms, but they were corrected effectively by the friendly staff.
Overall I'd recommend this hotel to a budget minded tourist, who needs a comfortable place just to relax and does spend his time touring the vast city not in the hotel.
Remember to use the great restaurants near-by on Queensway and Westbourne Grove.
