A Memorable Experience
We were so impressed with the staff and accommodations from the receptioniest Sandiela to the doorman, Mike. They were so friendly and helpful. Our room on the 17th floor had a great panoramic view of the beautiful city of Vancover. The location was perfect. We love to walk and could find our way around the city easily. We'll be back. For a special experience eat a restaurant called "Guu" a few blocks away. You won't ever forget it. |

"Great hotel!"
We stayed here for 2 nights of our honeymoon and were definitely impressed. I booked online through the hotel's website and they have a price match so I called after booking and they met the expedia price. We had a King Suite, great view of the city, nice large living areas, fridge, good water pressure and good AC unit. Very impressive lobby, even though we did not eat at the restaurant. Davie street right around the corner had a ton of good places to eat. Everything is walkable from this hotel and the area is good. Would definitely stay again

"Great hotel"
This hotel has a great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. We stayed there prior to going on an Alaska cruise. The room we had was comfortable and spacious with a separate work area and internet connection. The restaurant in the hotel has great breakfasts. Part of our luggage was lost, but when it arrived it was delivered promptly to our room. The staff was great about giving us directions and recommendations about what to do. The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation. We stayed in a renovated room. Make sure you ask for this when making your reservation. There definitely was a difference. The hotel is walking distance from Yaletown where you can enjoy great jazz and fantastic food. I'd stay here again.

"A pleasant surprise"
After reading mixed results about this hotel, I was a bit apprehensive. The hotel looked nice on the web, but not everybody agreed that it was really like that.
The first thing I found was that the staff was very friendly, and very helpful. The asst. front desk manager, John Clark, went out of his way to be helpful to a greater extent than any manager I can remember.
I stayed in a suite on the 28th floor. Although I didn't see the other types of rooms, except for fleeting glimpses when they were being made up, I certainly can't complain about the renovated suites. They are nice suites with all the amenities I needed. And when I did need something extra, such as more dishes, housekeeping was amazingly accommodating.
The restaurant is very good, although there are many restaurants nearby to choose from, often at better prices. But if you want the convenience of eating at the hotel or ordering room service, you will get good food and service.
The location could not be better. It's centrally located and near many attractions. Although there is a moderate amount of traffic noise at certain hours, it was not enough to be a problem.
The swimming pool area was adequate, but its room could use a new paint job. Also, the chlorine level was a bit too high. But the facilities, including the locker room, which had a steam room and showers with a head on top and three on the side were nice enough that even on days I did not swim, they were preferable places for a relaxing shower. However, there is no gym at the hotel.
The parking lot is convenient, but they do charge for it. Internet access costs money, which is typical of all but low priced hotels, but one could be misled by the website and expect it to be included. I mentioned this to the manager, who was glad to get helpful feedback, and the web page will be probably be updated soon to be clearer.
The windows open, and there is a balcony, and the air conditioner works well if you prefer to keep the windows closed.
Whatever minor inconveniences I found, the hotel staff was anxious to accommodate. I needed to leave a couple of days early, and Expedia's rules required a stiff penalty since I did not cancel them prior to my first day. The manager went out of his way to assure that I got a full refund anyway, since I gave several days' notice, and made sure that Expedia would give me the refund. There may be swankier hotels in the area, but this one met my needs very well, and especially well for the price.

"Great value and enormous rooms"
I travelled with my daughter, her husband and their daughter and stayed here for 5 nights in late April 2006. We were very impressed with the size of our rooms and the facilities in the rooms, including full kitchens. There was plenty of space even with a cot. The pool was good - especially the changing area and showers - the best we saw in Canada. There are plenty of places to shop and eat nearby so we did not use the kitchen much but, with a toddler, it was nice to know it was there if needed.

"Great Location and a lovely experience!"
I have stayed int he Century Plaza hotel and spa in October 2005 and throught it was so good I returned to Vancouver and stayed there again in October 2006!
My first trip to Vancouver and the Century Plaza was as a lone, female traveller (I am in my 20's) and I found this hotel met all my needs. As far as location goes, I was thrilled that from this hotel you can walk anywhere and everywhere whcih was one of my main reasons for choosing it. Just a couple of blocks up from Robson Street meant that I could stroll into the main shopping district, visit the sights and walk easily the beautiful harbour wall walk round to Stanley Park. Very much the lifestyle in Vancouver, from this hotel you are never far away from ameneties, and in particular coffee houses!
I always found the staff in the hotel to be very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were clean and in good condition. I was pleased with the sizable kitchen, fridge and oven. Also the coffee maker. I used the facilities for cooking and was more than satisfied. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable beds (2 queen beds in each room!) and my tip would be the higher up you can get, the better veiw of the sunset over the mountains! There was also a large TV which had a games console and lots of radio/music stations.
On my second visit aswell it is worth mentioning that we left the hotel very early in the mornign to go on The Rocky Mountaineer Rail tour. Checkout was especially fast with their night before facility and taxis ready (quite a few people were making this journey).
Overall, I could not find fault with this hotel. Definate value for money and so good I did go again!

"Great value and location"
Stayed here for the first time October 13-14, after booking through Expedia at the last minute. The rate was great, and the location on Burrard Street is very convenient to all downtown/West Vancouver shopping and attractions. The room was very comfortable - a small-ish bedroom, but a nicely-sized bathroom, and large living/kitchen area. The kitchen had all amenities. There's a balcony, with an amazing view of downtown and North Shore (had asked for a room on a higher floor, and they were able to accommodate).
There's a pool and steam room, and both they and the room have toiletries (lotion, shampoo, conditioner) from the spa that's on the premises. For the price ($119 Cdn/night), I thought it was an excellent value.

Large Rooms Great Location
Large cleans rooms smack in the middle of Downtown Vancouver. Great views of the city from the 28th floor. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants. |

"Five fabulous nights..."
Spent a Saturday night in a newly renovated room on the 30th floor. The decor and furnishings were great and the room was spacious with fantastic views. Central location was nice - walked back from Yaletown in no time at midnight without much effort.
We never tried the restaurant or lounge but would return to this hotel especially because of the decent room price when compared to other hotels in the area. |
