"Excellent, Excellent, Excellent" Just back from 10 nights at the Chaba in Mar '07 and we choose this resort after reading all the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and I can honestly say that all the positive comments are TRUE. This is a fabulous hotel in the best location at the north end of the beach which means you only have one way to walk to along the bay. The hotel facilities can't be faulted, the breakfast buffet was very good, however, we did encounter a couple of international incidents at the bread toasting machine during our stay!! The hotel bar is expensive but its definately worth paying that little bit more during Happy Hour to chill out after a hard day on the beach. We ate at the C Front Restaurant twice and the quality of the food was very high. I'd definately recommend eating on the bay at night (more expensive but worth it) as we found the main street in Chaweng to be very hot, stuffy and it distinctly lacks the "charm" of other places we've visited in Thailand i.e. Karon, Kata and Patong in Phuket and also Hua Hin on the mainland. There's also a bar called the Indian House just a couple of doors down the beach from the Chaba which we found to be excellent. Room was well equipped, clean and tidy. Beds were a little hard but we got used to them after a couple of nights. There aren't many sun beds around the pool or on the beach but we didn't have any trouble getting 2 when we wanted them and we're not the earliest risers when on holiday. The whole resort is a very pleasant place to stay and if we return to Koh Samui we'll definately stay here again.

"Holoday In Heaven" This was our first trip to Thailand, so we went with open minds on what it would be like. Nothing could have prepared us for the friendly welcome and the kindness extended to us during our stay of 8 days (not long enough). The resort was idyllic being located at the quiet end of Chaweng away from the crowds, but close enough to all amenities. The water was beautifully clear, warm and so relaxing. The pool was great with spa jets to relax you after sightseeing and shopping. Our room was wonderful with the biggest bed we'd ever seen, everything was clean and comfortable, with lovely little extra touches every day such as fresh flowers, candles, oil burners and lovely little notes every evening (very funny). The food was great with an very wide selection. The restaurant had special theme nights which gave an even wider choice. The bar snacks were great too. We were lucky to be there for Thai New Year. What a night!!! A beautiful meal on the beach then a wonderful show of Traditional Dance, Thai Fighting Display and Cabaret Acts. The next day the fun continued with all visitors and locals alike throwing water on everyone. This happened all over Thailand and is part of the New Year tradition. We were wet all day and could not have had more fun. We would definitely recommend visiting at this time of year just for the New Year celebrations. We highly recommend this resort mainly because of the friendly staff, who could not do enough for us, always smiling and helpful, giving us an insight into the giving nature of Thai people.

"Found heaven" We spent 12 lovely nighs in this hotel,, The staff are so friendly and they are just relaxed and nothing is to much trouble,,, Will be going back in december for another hoilday,, We had a delux villa , we opened our blinds to look on to the beach it is a place i would take my friends to ,, The island is what you would expect from the poor country , there is plenty to do if you wish or lovely beaches to sit on
