The City Hotel Derry is a bright contemporary hotel with a spacious interior. The hotel is ideally situated on the banks of the River Foyle and has wonderful views of the river and the Guild Hall.

The hotel's 145 executive bedrooms have been designed with the busy traveller in mind and have been finished to a very high standard. Guest facilities include telephone with voice mail, hairdryer, trouser press, iron, tea and coffee making facilities, fax / modem lines, mini bar and interactive TV system.

Thompsons on the River Restaurant, situated on the ground floor of the hotel, is a 140 seat, a la carte restaurant set in a beautiful location with sweeping views over the River Foyle. The restaurant offers guests a fine dining experience with a wide and varied menu. Designed with a modern, contemporary feel, this restaurant provides diners with a relaxed and intimate ambience right in the heart of a lively city centre.

There is free car parking for hotel residents. The conference centre at the City Hotel offers a range of state of the art meeting rooms each with ISDN lines and a range of audio visual facilities.

Derry or Doire or Londonderry or The Maiden City located on the banks of the great river Foyle can boast a very comprehensive history. It has been a place inhabited by people since prehistoric times. It was once an Oak grove held sacred by Druids of an elder faith. It then became the site of a monastery founded by St Columb Cille who left the place in self exile from a rock at Thornhill in the North of the city where a convent now stands. This rock still bears his foot prints and is held sacred to many Catholics and Christians.

Romantic view
The City Hotel Derry has a romantic view which is really worth a lot! It is also professionally managed, offers good service with well traineed personnel. Our room was bright, clean and fresh, furnished in a modern way. Here's the best part, I loved the pool!

"Good value for money"
The rooms in this hotel are very spacious. There is a large desk in the room where you can connect your laptop which makes a stay here perfect for those on business. Bar and breakfast facilities are excellent and there is also a good gym and swimming pool. Ask for a room with a view of the River Foyle and you get a spectacular view. The rates at this hotel are very reasonable for what you get.
