"Wonderful experience, highly recommended"
We spent eight days at City Terraces. From the moment of our arrival we could not have been more satisfied. My husband has a heart condition and couldn't carry our bags to the second floor. David's (the owner) help was offered immediately. He was there to carry the bags down as well. Both he and his wife were very knowledgeable and helpful in organizing tours for us as well as recommending excellent restaurants. The apartment was clean, well furnished and within walking distance to all attractions. We enjoyed the salt-water pool and made use of the barbeque next to it. We will definitely be staying there on any return trip

"Great host"
The manager, Dave, helped us put together an excellent itinery for our 4 night stay. Unfortunately the rains prevented us from white water rafting and golf - and a land-slide meant the Kuranda Scenic railway was not working.. However, the 4WD hosted tour (you must ask for Peachy!) and the 2 days we hired a car more than made up for these disappointments. Dave asked us questions to establish what we liked - and what we didn't - and then proceeded to suggest 3 days of tours. Whatever your likes and dislikes, don't miss the Skyrail, Paronella Park and the World Heritage Rainforest.

"well equipped / clean"
Stayed for 6 nights with 2 children. Good value, reasonably sized 2 bed apartment with its own laundry facilities, and dishwasher!. These 2 bed ones are near the back of the block. We overlooked a small side road and also the railway. This is used mainly for the Kuranda Scenic train, but in the middle of each night a cargo trian would pass- which had to sound its horn when passing the road. Not good, if like me you are a light sleeper. Swimming pool with sun loungers- freezing cold, but the children enjoyed it. Also an internet access point- cheap to use. Well situated - near to main shopping centre- about 10 min walk.Quite near front - took us about 15 min to walk - need to cross lots of roads. Is in business area, so not attractive situation. Large secure car park. Owners very helpful and knowledgeable on trips etc.Good chinese takeaway on next street corner. Was fine for our stay as we were out and about each day, but on reflection wished we stayed a little out of Cairns at one of the scenic beach resorts.
