"Cheap and cheerful!"
This hotel has some excellent last minute deals!
We managed to find a double room at £40.00, including breakfast!
The hotel has just been refurbished and looks nothing like the pictures in all the guides.
For the location of the hotel and the price I don't think you would find anything better. Right on the doorstep of Princes St! |

"Great central location. Comfortable, clean & very friendly staff."
I booked a room for my parents for their 40th wedding anniversay in December 2004. They had a great time in this hotel. They said the room was homely & clean (the only slight grumble was the lack of a chair in the bedroom, my Mum suffers with a bad back & sitting on the edge of a bed was uncomfortable for her), the staff were very friendly & very helpful.
The position of the hotel is superb, right on the edge of Princes Street (Edinburghs main shopping street) so not too far to walk for any of the attractions. The beautiful park in front of the Castle is a 2 minute walk away.
My parents would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone. |

"Great value, clean & good location"
We stayed here overnight in Jan 2005. Booked through laterooms and got a double with ensuite & Breakfast for 45 pounds. The room was spotless, heating good and the location off Princess Street hard to beat. The airport bus picks you up right outside the door. As we had to leave so early (5am) and wouldn't be there for the breakfast they offered us an earlier time. We declined as we couldn't stomach any food at that time anyway. I would definatley stay again. |

"Very Good Value for Money"
We stayed at this hotel for my hen weekend in Edinburgh. It was perfectly positioned for bars, restaurants etc. If your room is road facing it can get alittle noise at night (the windows are original sash). Lovely hotel, very nicely decorated...alot better than what I was expecting. I loved poached eggs for breakfast and hotels/restaurants rarely get them right...however I was pleasantly surprised here.
The room is very clean and feels newly refurbished. There isn't not a lot of room but it doesn't feel cramped either. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel for a city break. Very good value for money (we paid £30 per person per night). |
