"Great Hotel"
I planned a trip through Globus and was placed in the Hotel Claridge for my Rome stay. However, the staff was nice even if they couldn't speak English. They were very helpful at breakfast and during check-in and check-out. The room was incredible. The location is near the embassies and the National Museum of Art. It is within walking distance of a lot. I am glad I did not stay in the middle of the city, as I heard from others about the noise and the smaller rooms and lack of amenities. The hotel is very tastefully decorated in a Scandinavian way. I really liked the marble bath room and the shower had lot of jets, it was a definate upgrade. The linens were luxurious, we had a flat screen plasma TV with Internet in the room- accessible from the TV. We had great lighting and plenty of space. I can't wait to stay at the Hotel Claridge again. I have already suggested it to a friend who leaves next week. There are some cute little places to eat right across the street and the trolley and bus come right outside the front door so you aren't forced to use a taxi, but a taxi to the other side of town was only like 7 Euros. Not bad. I say walk to where you are going then take a taxi back to your hotel.

Bedroom comfortable and spacious.Magnicant bathroom and shower.Ample breakfast and good variety. Helpful and attentive staff. Quiet area at night but plenty of options for eating out. Good bus and tram links going right past hotel door.Very happy to returnand recommend to friends.Excellent value for money. Avoid rip off taxi fares and use public transport links from Termini.

"A surprise discovery"
We were walked from Borromini Hotel to Claridge and I wish we could have stayed the three nights there. Unfortunately, they were sold out on the two remaining nights, so we had to go back to our initial hotel. What a nice surprise we had to stay at the hotel. I admit, being walked sucked, but it gave us a chance to discover this great place. The rooms are HUGE, huge king size bed, sitting area, flat screen TV, 20 channels, two sinks in the bathroom, 2 jazzuci jet showers. Marble all around and hard wood in the room. There is no extra charget to have your breakfast served to the room. We tried that, and it was nice not having to hurry up and get down in time for breakfast. The staff is very pleasant and they try their best to help. They supply a "cheat sheet" to help you get around Rome. It was very handy when we were figuring out how to get back as it is about 20 minutes away from the centre of Rome. This cheat sheet gave the bus and street car number to get to the main attractions in Rome. We never got lost. The down side, the hotel is set back from the centre, and there is really nothing to do. There are a few retaurants such as the Ambasciatore d'Abruzzo... great restaurant, great price. Other than that thought, it's extremely quiet. If you can, pay more, stay closer, but if you are travelling on a budget, Claridge is a great choice. Much better than the Borromini. Book the shuttle back to the airport in advance as they will recommend a higher priced option. I really thought this hotel to be luxurious at a fair price. We were on the 7th floor with a nice view of the city. It was very quiet although the hotel was busy, and the staff were really pleasant. They knew the area well and could recommend restaurants easily. They supplied a map also to help us get around, indicated where to purchase bus tickets. One of the rare places we found in Italy where the staff supplied more information than the answer to our question. You'll find this is rather exceptional. If I have to go back, I would consider the Claridge Hotel if I could not afford a location closer to the centre.

"Hotel Claridge... nice experience"
We stayed in this hotel for our honeymoon. Location of the hotel was good, with regular trams and buses running past the hotel every 15 minutes, connecting you to all the sights across the city. However, we had a couple of problems with our room. The air conditioning didn't work at all (as read on a previous review, maybe it has something to do with them turning it off in the cooler months) and made the room quite warm in the evening. The room itself, however, was very spacious and very comfortable. The shower was very small, flooded when having a shower and the door to the bathroom actually hit the wash basin when you tried to shut the door. An excellent restaurant was situated around the corner from the hotel called the, "Taverna Rossini". We had two wonderful meals in this restaurant, staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was fantastic. Was quite reasonable too. Fully recommended! Staff in the hotel were also friendly and helpful. Would recommend for a short break in the city.
