Clarion Admiral Hotel is located in a traditional fishermen's warehouse dating from the turn of the century. It has a wonderful view of the harbor, the old hanseatic part of the city and the Fish Market.

Excellent hotel and location
I stayed here in a twin room with my mum. We arrived exhuasted at 6am, knowing that we couldn't check in until mid-afternoon. The receptionist took one look at me and took pity on me and arranged to have a room cleaned as soon as the first people that day had checked out! We went to have breakfast, then took coffee in the lounge while we waited. Breakfast every day was fantastic - a great choice, and delicious bread. When we arrived in the room, we sank into a beautifully soft, enormous pillow that was so good, I bought one! The hotel is just a few minutes' pleasant walk around the harbour into Bergen's centre, has fantastic views of the bay, and boasts excellent and welcoming service, high quality facilities and strikes what is for me and my mum at least a good balance between the traditional and the modern. We really enjoyed our stay here, which was made even better by the hard work and attention to detail of the friendly staff.

"Great location and service"
Two of us stayed at this hotel for three nights, we found the staff at Reception very helpful, When we had problems getting back in to the (public) underground car park (instructions were all in Norwegian), a lady from Reception came with us to ensure we could get in!! The breakfasts were good with plenty of choice, though being a big hotel it does get busy. One evening we decided to have an meal in the resturuant from the al a cart menu, when we got the bill, they had not charged for the desserts, upon us pointing this out the head waitress said honesty should rewarded and did not charge us for the desserts! Our room though a little small did have a balcony with views of the harbour. Over all I would recomend this hotel.

"Much better than many of the reviews we read"
We got this hotel as a cheap deal and only looked at the reviews afterwards and we were 'put off by what people said. We arrived expecting the worst but it was great! The rooms were quite nice and the hotel in general was pretty good - not five star but still ok. The location is fantastic and as said by other revewers the break fast was very good. We didnt eat dinner in the hotel but we had a great stay. If you are going there, dont worry is pretty nice.'

Good location/great room
Our room on the 6th floor had a fantastic view across the harbour. Both the room and bathroom were large with plenty of space for luggage. Breakfast was busy, but no more than many other hotels. Reception and restaurant staff were very helpful. Great location. Would thoroughly recommend - definitely worth the supplement for harbour view.
