Hotel Information
Providing all the comfort, service and style you could ever expect...
Clarion Hotel Sligo is a strikingly contemporary hotel set in a grand property built in 1884 and set in landscaped gardens situated within two kilometres of Sligo's shopping, museums and golf.
The 167 guestrooms have contemporary decor in neutral colours and a minimalist style with light oak furnishings.
There is plenty to do in the area with the Sligo County Museum, Rosses Point Golf Course, Seaweed baths, Horse riding and a wild bird sanctuary all within 10 kilometres. Dublin Airport is approximately 191 kilometres from the hotel.
Sligo Town is a thriving farm town on the south side of the River Garavogue, surrounded on three sides by mountains, the most famous of which are Ben Bulben to the north and Knocknarea to the south. Sligo Town is in the midst of a major renaissance. Roughly half to two-thirds of the town center has been refurbished in the past 9 years.
From a visitor's perspective, the focus of this radical rejuvenation has been Sligo's new "Left Bank," where cafes and restaurants spill onto the waterfront promenade whenever weather permits. It will also affect you in terms of driving, as construction closes streets and requires confusing roadway diversions, but it's a small enough town that it's really impossible to be lost for long.
Guests can enjoy Italian influenced modern European cuisine in a restaurant with smart contemporary decor. The room has exposed original stonework and pillars, which contrast the brightly coloured modern artworks and soft furnishings. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has an extensive wine list. Booking is recommended.
