"Fab hotel with amazing views from the plunge pool..."
What a fabulous hotel, excellently placed within the city and close to the 'tube'.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was an amazing spread of all different kinds of foods including sushi, not that I was brave enough to stomach it at that time of the morning!! Word of advice though, because it'd such a huge hotel, the breakfast room was heaving with people....get a table and go up one at a time!
Our room was beautiful and very modern, we had a lovely view over an inset garden and from what I could see all rooms would have a good view too.
On the top floor there is a 'gym' and plunge pool. The 'gym' was a disappointment but after walking all over the city I really didn't want a work out! The plunge style pool is great but small...at the evening you have amazing views over the city.
If you do want a good swim there is a great pool just behind the hotel which has both inside and outside pools, slides and all fun things...but you'll need to buy or take a good size padlock with you for the lockers.
I must also say what a lovely clean city Stockholm was....lovely people, weather and attractions.
Take one the boat tours to appreciate the city.

"Cool hotel"
I thought that for the price this was a great hotel. It is in a great location, the rooms are very cool (well designed and appointed) and the bathrooms are nice. I understand that it is the largest hotel in Stockholm and even though it is big, it has been well designed such that it does not feel huge and impersonal.
The bars in the hotel are great with good cocktails. The staff in the hotel are friendly and professional and it is about 30 seconds walks from a tube station.
There are a few odd things. In the bathroom, there is no shampoo/soap which is weird for a good 4 star hotel. Also, the old TV looked very dated and shabby in the cool designer room.
The only complaint is breakfast. It is a total shocker. It was so bad the first morning that we just did not go back. The dining room is huge and understaffed (which means that tables take an eternity to be cleared). You cannot get a seat and the food continually runs out. When you do get food, it is pretty average.
This said, I would not be put off going back - just resign yourself to eating breakfast elsewhere. A great hotel.

"Great Hotel"
I travelled to Stockholm with my boyfriend for a three night break at the beginning of November and we loved the Clarion hotel. The hotel is modern and sleek and the reception/lobby area is impressive.
We stayed in a standard room which was all we could have wanted. The room was comfortable and quiet and the shower in the bathroom is fantastic.
As other reviews have pointed out, the restaurant at breakfast can be busy as the hotel is large. However, we had no problem getting a table and the choice of food is wonderful. The hotel probably provides the most extensive choice we have found anywhere and the fact that you serve yourself everything - including drinks means that you don't have to rely on waiters to serve you. We stayed Fri to Monday and breakfast on the Monday was very quiet. If you can, try and get a table overlooking the park.
The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and I cannot praise them enough. Safety deposit boxes are available free of charge behind reception and are a good idea.
Stockholm is a lovely city and although the hotel is not in the centre this was not a problem at all as there is a metro stop right outside the hotel and Gamla Stan is only a couple of minutes away on the metro. We would recommend Skansen and the modern art museum. There is also a good coffee shop near Slussen on the main road from Sodermalm called Muggen - the hot chocolate was fab!!
We enjoyed 3 meals out and the hotel was very helpful in booking tables for us. Dionysos is a greek restaurant not far from the hotel. The food was gorgeous and good value for money. We also ate at Narknoi which is a Thai restaurant near Norrmalm. We tried to eat at Koh Phangan nearer the hotel but it was fully booked and very loud. Narknoi was lovely and is popular with locals rather than tourists. Finally, we ate at Grill restaurant. On a Sunday they have an all you can eat grill buffet. All different kinds of meat are cooked in view of diners and you can help yourself. The buffet was quite expensive but it was a different night out and is obviously popular - I would recommend booking in advance as people were turned away.
If we return to Stockholm, we would not hesitate in returning to the Clarion and would highly recommend it to others.

"Great hotel in a beautiful city"
We stayed in the Clarion Hotel Stockholm with our family who were visiting from OZ. Absolutely loved the hotel for its friendly staff, chic design and location. It is directly across the road from the T-bana. Plenty of restaurants and bars only minutes away from the hotel. Would definitely come and stay again.
