"Enhanced our Stay"
Stayed four nights at St. Albany/St. James in Paris in July 7-11, 2007.
What a wonderful experience we had. Had booked a Jr. Suite through
hotels.com (buy 3 nights get the 4th free). Arrived to the hotel and
were given an upgrade to an Executive Suite. Don't let anyone tell you
the room doesn't matter/you're just sleeping there. What a wonderful,
'extravagant' memory this had made for our family (my husband, my 13
year old son and myself). The beds were by the far the most comfortable
of our 16 day European stay and the pillows...I'd like to have some
shipped home! Our room faced the courtyard and was peaceful throughout our
visit. Bathroom was granite/marble and our son had his own 'wing'
w/toilet. Made excellent use of the fluffy white robes when we used the
totally zen indoor pool (it rained ALOT while we were there).
The staff at the front desk was young and often 'cheeky'...but serious
when needed. We enjoyed them and they were helpful when asked. Just
be careful if you request a cab...they start charging when they arrive,
whether you're in the car or not! There was a slight 'mixup' on our
pickup time with the front desk (they called for us the evening before
and I highly recommend it) and scheduled our departure for 10 minutes
earlier than we asked....cost us $20. But overall the staff was great.
The location was second to none. Smack dab in the center of the Jardin
de Tuileries on Rue de Rivoli. A short walk to the Louvre, Place de
Concorde and Musee D'Orsay. Metro across the street (they were also
very helpful whenever asked a question). A few doors down, the Cafe de
Rivoli served the best onion soup and croque monsieurs of our Parisien
visit. A reasonable breakfast place also was just a few steps away
(good cafe, cafeteria style) an excellent alternative to the $24Euro
(approx $35 american) breakfast at the hotel! I am a stickler for
safety...and never once at any hour of the day or night did I feel uneasy in the
area of the St. A.
I had considered (right until the day we left the states) staying at a
different hotel in the Les Halles area for a little less money.
Checked it and the area it's in out on our last evening. I am SOOO grateful
that I chose to stay at the St. Albany! All of my senses screamed to
be out before dark. Heck, I wasn't comfortable there in the daytime.
Overall...Our time here was outstanding. This hotel definitely added
to our Paris experience! My son has a memory to last a lifetime.

"Perfect Paris Stay"
I stayed here in January 2006 and had a delightful stay.
The rooms were perfect, clean, spacious (the room had an upstairs and a downstairs!) 2 bathrooms and a kettle in the room and also a mini bar. The staff were very friendly and it was no hassle for them to answer any questions we put to them.
The location of the hotel was perfect as it was right beside the Lourve, 10 minutes walk from Bolevard Hasseman (main shopping area).
I have been to Paris quite a few times and wouold say that this was the best visit ever and I think the hotel had a lot to do with this.
I would deffinatley stay here again without a doubt.
