Just right
Two of us stayed at the Claris Nov 2007. It was clean and comfortable- just a few minutes from the metro. Perfect. Adequate breakfast. We parked our rental car in their courtyard and it was the tightest turn to exit! Lots of car scrapes on the wall- not from us, though!

"Friendly, clean and very well located."
We have just returned from five nights stay at the Claris Hotel and found it to be a very friendly, easy to use and clean hotel. We enjoyed staying here very much and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Prague. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the main town but also in an area where you're not trampled by the trong of tourists visiting Prague. There are local restaurants, shopping centres, newsagents etc and a tram and Metro station very closeby. The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are of a good size and kept very clean and fresh looking. The scrambled eggs at breakfast are worth the visit alone!

"great value!"
We have just got back from our three night stay in Prague and we highly recommend this hotel. We paid £199 for 3 nights for a double room with breakfast which we booked with Easyjet. (We also recommend the ATS transfer service Easyjet offer from the airport, which was very efficient). The hotel is very clean, everything looks quite new and recently refurbished. The room we had was very much set out like a 'Travel Inn' room. The staff were very helpful and their English was excellent. We arrived very early (10am) but they still checked us into a room which was very nice of them! I have known hotels in the past not to do that! They also held our luggage for us on the day we left for no charge so effectively we got an extra day in Prague! The breakfast was nicely set out with a variety of rolls/breads, cheese, ham, jams, etc and the now famous scambled egg!! Again everything looked very clean, fully stocked and well presented. I read a past review which said about the noise of other people in the hotel. The corridors are tiled so there is some noise when people wheel their luggage over the floor or the echo from people talking but it was very minimal for us and it didn't affect our stay. Don't let the location put you off either it's only a 10/15 minute walk to Wenceslas Square.

"Clean, quiet, good location and great value."
A great little hotel. We found the hotel very clean and comfortable. The beds were made everyday and the towels changed as and when you wanted. It's quite a new hotel so nothing is old and stale. We found our room to be smoke free which is quite a bonus in Prague as smoking seems to be a popular pastime. I suffer from backache and require a decent bed. The beds were comfortable and did not give me any problems. The hotel was so quiet. You could not hear any noise from outside world. The location was good for the price as Wenceslas Square was only about 15 minutes walking distance and the metro was about 5 minutes and the trams were only a couple of minutes away. The breakfast was plenty full and great if you like meat but the fresh fruit tended to be average. The coffee was ok when I eventually managed to work out how to use it. Free internet access too. I was expecting dial up in the old Czech capital but no way, they have 10 Meg. All in all great value / very clean (even the wife was happy and she is a clean freak!) and nice and quiet. I would go back anytime.

"Nice friendly hotel"
I would just like to say that our stay at this hotel was a really nice experience, staff spoke good English and were really friendly. The rooms were really clean but our room did smell a bit peculiar however we soon got used to it. Our room didn't have a kettle but we were able to borrow one from the reception and they allowed us to store a birthday cake in their staff fridge. The hotel has internet connection and if you have a laptop it's a good idea to bring it as they have free wireless connection which is really handy for doing any research on things to do the following day. The breakfast was adequate offering a typical continental breakfast and the area is really quiet. Getting to the hotel was quite easy, just take the 119 to the Metro station and a short train ride to Namesti Miru then 5 minutes walk to the hotel, taking about 45 mins in total. Do be aware that if you have wheels on your suitcase most streets are cobbled in Prague so it's actually better to carry your luggage using a shoulder strap. When using their trains I would advise people to purchase the correct ticket though as we mistakenly bought an invalid ticket at the ticket machine and were caught out. The fine is 500 crowns which is not really much but compared to a ticket of 14 crowns for short journey or 20 crowns for longer journeys it's a big difference. We went to Mlynec Restaurant overlooking the Charles Bridge which is priced very reasonably considering that the chef here has 3 michelin stars, our meal came to about 2750 crowns, starter, main and dessert for 2 people, it was all very nicely presented and tasty and I would highly recommend it for the great view you can get of Charles Bridge. If possible avoid the main souvenir shops and restaurants as they have tourist prices, when we went to Petrin hill on the last day my girlfriend bought a little trinket from a shop there and the same trinket cost 10 times as much in the Jewish Quarter! BTW Petrin hill was well worth a visit even though the funicular is closed until end of November, the climb to the top of the hill is not too strenuous and was worth it as the autumn leaves and the stunning views of Prague were breathtaking.

"Clarming Clean and Friendly"
Stayed at the Claris in late November and couldn't ask for anything better. Even before the trip the staff were great by speedy replies to my questions via email and also helping to arrange a taxi to pick us up at the airport. The rooms were very clean and cute... the bathroom were large and also very very clean, however, I agree with other reviews that the shower with no curtains did make taking a shower interesting :) And I can't say enough about the staff and how clean everything was... I've travel around Europe and other then 5 star hotels this has to be one of the cleanest places... (this speaks volumes about the Hotel). Location wise it wasn't too bad to get around. The metro was about 3 blocks away and the tram was just a short walk down the street. To get to the city center using the metro was very easy...note beware... buy the metro ticket at the airport when you arrive... we got nabbed on our way to buy the metro ticket our first day... 1000 K... Metro was very easy to use like any around the states.. like the T in Boston just follow the color lines to where you need to go and transfer at the stations. The hotel was not to far and only spent about 10 mins on the metro to get to the square. Markets were close by the hotel (Alberts is Prague’s supermarket, I think there is one in the metro station in the Muzck stop) Nice cute places to eat around the Hotel. Overall it was a very nice trip and the Hotel Claris was a great pit stop each night. We would for sure stay here again on our next trip to Prague.

"Great Little Hotel"
Just stayed 4 nights at the great little hotel Claris. Perfect location, walkable about 10 mins from top of Wenceslas Square in a quiet semi retail/ semi commercial street. Felt very safe there. Staff were lovely, very helpful, spoke great English. Breakfast good if you got in early (before 9.00). Hotel very modern, clean and comfortable. Rooms not huge but very well appointed. Trams on roads at top and bottom of hotel's block, recommend the 22, goes to all the right places. Surrounded by lots of good cheap restaurants and bars. Recommend small local bar Dickens and the Rudy Baron restaurant for great slightly up market food. Believe they have a sister hotel Anna couple of streets away. Very pleased with stay, will definitely go back.
