A BAD CHOICE
Firstly the hotel is never a 5 star hotel(3 star at the very most)The rooms are not what you see in the site, they are very basic. We had to change our room and the room they gave us was even worse it had a strange smell. We decided not to stay and check in to the hotel across the street which was a better choice.Think twice before booking into this hotel. |

"Decent hotel"
I was in Omonia Hotel in December of 2005 with my boyfriend. I have to tell that room was enough big, bathroom too but a little old, good breakfast buffet and cool people in reception. Only bad thing is a bad area (center of the prostitution in Athens) and there were a few foreigners with greek prostitutes having a party in the same floor, so we had to phone to the hotel staff. Besides location isn't the best, at the same time it's really close to Acropolis and market, only ten minutes walking.

"nice hotel"
Our stay here was unforgetable. nice hotel and nice views of the city of Athens. Our hotel room at the Hotel Grand was very nice and comfortable. The rooms average size with a bar fridge. The bathroom was a good size and very clean. Overall was impressed with the whole hotel. The staff very friendly and helpful, we certainly would stay here again.

"ok good hotel friendly staff"
Went to athens in August 2005 for 4 nights to do the sights. This hotel served its purpose well. Very close to the Metro, or if you wanted to walk, about 20 to 25 minutes from the acropolis. Buffet style breakfast very nice, helpful front desk staff, rooms not huge but comfortable with air conditioning and mini bar. Omonia square is very busy, but there's a great little kebab house with cheap, draught Amstel lager.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone just in Athens for a few days sightseeing |

"Good Hotel"
We stayed in the Omonia for two seperate nights and found the hotel itself to be just fine. There really isn't much to the hotel, but the rooms were much more spacious then we thought they would be and the bathrooms were very large. The breakfast buffet was terrific each morning.
The only downside to the hotel is it's location. Omonia Square is rather seedy and we definately saw some unsightly things while we ate. The hotel is right next to the metro which makes it convenient to Plaka.
The hotel was in walking distance to the Acropolis and the Parliament, which made it very easy for us as we were walking.
Good hotel, I would stay there again.

"Lovely Hotel"
First off this is beautiful large hotel from the outside as well as inside. The metro is right outside, taxis just around the corner plus the sites within the city are just a few minutes walking distance from the hotel. The lobby is nicely chilled especially in the summer which is when i was there, the air conditioning in the rooms however takes a bit of getting used. My room was on the 8th floor, card swip to access the room, lights and air con. An excellent view from the balcony to say the least. Omonia square where the hotel is located is host to several tourist shop's around the area. Hence the city below is noisy but once the balcony door is closed there is absolutely no noise which was quite suprising. Satellite TV (english movies at night), in room safe, mini-bar, room service, etc. Excellent bathroom, very appealing, though i don't see why one needs a phone in there in addition to the one by the bedside. All in all this is an excellent hotel to stay in while in Athens, the price was a bit high 100 Euro's a night but well worth it.
I wouldn't think of staying elsewhere while in Athens but here.
