"excellent hotel"
Just back from the Cleopatra Palace, and would recommend it to anyone, but just one cautious mention.
If you do go do not book a sea view room as I did as it can be noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, due to clubbers walking past at 4.00 am. Then at 6.30 they roll the beach opposite with a tractor.''Other than that we enjoyed the hotel, staff were excellent, food was good, although we only had B&B, as there are so many good places to choose from for evening to suit many budgets.

"Lovely Hotel in great location"
We have just returned from a week at the Cleopatra Palace Hotel which is part of the Mare Nostrum Resort.
The rooms and bathrooms are both of an adequate size with large bed, double wash hand basins, wc, bidet and bath with shower. There was always plenty of hot water and the daily cleaning service was good with towels changed daily.
There was a huge range of buffet style food at breakfast and staff were friendly and helpful. I would not particularly recommend the food at dinner time as there is a huge range of restaurants in the area with a bigger choice and better value.
The hotel forms part of the Mare Nostrum Resort and there are several pools to choose from. There were plenty of sunbeds although it was a bit sardine-like.
There is a spa on site as well as the Piramides de Arona which hosts Carmen Mota flamenco shows.
The location is, in my opinion, the best as it is on the edge of Las Americas, next to Los Cristianos, next to the beach. There are, as I said loads of good restaurants close by at varying price ranges and there are quiet bars or bars with entertainment of all sorts nearby, to suit all tastes. A short walk takes you to either Los Cristianos or the livelier bars of Las Americas. You are far enough away from the haunts of the 18-30 group to be away from any trouble. There are some fantastic shops in the Plazas across the road and lots more shops in the vicinity.

"Fab"
We went to this hotel for our honeymoon in June 2006 and paid the extra for a superior room with a plunge pool. On arrival we had fruit and wine waiting for us in our pretty large room. The balcony was huge and overlooked the pool and the piramide with stunning views of the stained glass windows of the auditorium.
Reception staff were very helpul as were staff around the hotel.
We had a top floor room and sun on the balcony all day. The bath and shower were in the main area, as the whole room was open plan. Not an issue for us I can assure you!!
So many great restaurants and bars in the area - too many to be honest, think I need to go back so I can visit my favourites again.
Plunge pool is a fab idea, means you can cool off without having to encounter other peoples children!!
Very clean, I think linen etc was changed every day and didn't get any noise from the other rooms.
A lovely area and I found the hotel great for couples, not so sure it's a family hotel. Excellent location and would go back again.
I would maybe agree with some of the other reviews re the 5*ness of the hotel - but I loved it!
